I've got 3 kids. The youngest doesn't want to start going yet, but she is getting to the stage that she wants to go with daddy and her brothers to the game, so the cost of her season ticket will be upon me in about two years.
But let's deal with the present.
So, I'll be shelling out £380 + my season ticket, which is going to be a serious stretch on the old resources. However, in order to be a good parent I should relocate to the North Stand - what an interesting and bloody arrogant argument.
That notwithstanding, let's say I take your advice and attempt to relocate to the North Stand. Unfortunately though, so does every other parent and it is oversubscribed meaning one or both my boys can't go as I can't afford it and end up on a waiting list.
Thanks for that.
As it happens, I will be renewing for all 3 of us at the increased prices (it may cost me my marriage, but frankly I can see an upside!) by whatever means necessary. But to come on with an argument that seems to say "you're a parent? F*ck you then pal cos I'm alright Jack" is a bit galling really.
I feel for all parents who are going to be stung by this and potentially may not be able to go anymore.
I agree, in the grand scheme of things it is still a reasonable price, but the size of the increase in one hit given the current financial climate is ill thought at best.
