What if the guy had just received a call saying his Dad was dying in hospital and had to get there quicky?

Although they’re on tv, the web and in all the papers every day.
As for the assault, whatever anyone’s views on the protesters, kicking someone in the head, whilst they’re lying on the floor, really is shit-housery of the worst kind.
It’s GBH, wounding or, at best, ABH. They all carry a 5 year maximum sentence unless, of course, the perpetrator knew that injury was likely, then it’s ‘with intent’ and carries a maximum life sentence.
So he might soon be having a far tougher time than he imagined.

They are being talked about every day, along with the weather.
The PM and HS said these ‘new powers’ would top JSO protests. The police now have powers to remove them from the highway (although they’ve always had that) and yet they don’t. Why do you think that is?

I don’t support JSO and I am opposed to their tactics as I think it amounts to self-harm… but this line of argument is objectively terrible and lazy and I wish people would stop using it.

You can rightly protest for wider systemic and societal change while participating within the structures of said society. In fact that is the only way of protesting effectively. What would they achieve by going off-grid and living in caves with no technology? Absolutely nothing. It would be totally pointless.

Just because I don’t like freighter ships that burn thousands of metric tonnes of coal doesn’t mean I’m a hypocrite for using a fucking smart phone.

The argument is basically this stupid meme.

Says more about you, this is abolutely disgusting behaviour to sucker punch someone from behind and then kick them when they are on the ground. A person I might add who was not showing any signs of aggression.
