Juve away

Enjoyed a good one day trip up to the game actually starting , we sat 2 rows back from front in upper tier , had to tell a few people to move because persistent standing at front glass barrier blocking our view
Then I was questioned how I got my tickets because I wasn’t recognised as one of the so called big points holders , and my loyalty questioned , my first game was Bert trautmann s testimonial 1964 I’m 71
Then after second goal some idiot assaulted my mate ( nutted ) for no apparent reason reason drawing blood City on City
Ended up with a bitter taste of actually following City aboard in future
Some proper bellends have latched onto supporting City. Fucking drug addict bellends to boot. I wish they would get booted!

My mate had two tickets but couldn’t go so I said I’d buy em and take my lad
Unfortunately we live in a world where you can’t do spontaneous acts of kindness anymore
Shame as we’ve had a really great trip with great lads
Many laughs along the way
One of our mates is going to be banned by city very soon
I won’t go into detail but he is a massive fan,he goes everywhere watching city,he is a character and City don’t want people like him going to the game, they want obedient fans who do as they are told not individuals who sing risky songs and have a laugh, they have taken the fun out of it
Is it City, yes it is I hold the club responsible that’s why my love affair is over
Shame as the last 44 years has been a lot of fun but the fun is over for me personally
I fully get why you're pissed off about not getting in but again, how can you blame City for an Italian bylaw?

Chatting to people in the Huntsman and Murphy’s bars over the afternoon yesterday, I was genuinely surprised how many were using other people’s tickets, and assuming or hoping they wouldn’t really check them. The moment the ticket scan at the entrance triggered a screen with my name and date of birth, to check against my passport, which they did thoroughly, you realised there were potentially going to be a lot of refusals. Given the warnings, prior experience in Italy and the fact any member could have got a ticket in their own name, I still don’t really get why there was so many who did this. To be clear I’m not judging, people do what they do, but why risk it when the tickets were freely available anyway?
The warnings were there, yes, so you do it at your own risk but a lot of those fans wouldn't have known that it would go all the way down to members so got people further up the points ladder to sort them a ticket. In hindsight they should've waited of course but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

My mate's son asked me to sort him a ticket but once he'd seen all the blurb about passport checks he soon decided against the idea!

I had a lad and a dad trying to hussle / nudge me into promising them tickets for Juve when I hadn’t yet received the OSC allocation. I asked them what they expected me to do and they couldn’t answer. Then they said they were going to buy 2 off a neighbour and I told them it was sure way of NOT getting in the ground. I sorted them the 2 tickets in the end but if they had bought from their neighbour they would have got very short shrift if they had come back blaming me or City for not getting in to the ground.

I feel for the Blues who missed out and I don’t like the Italian laws but the clues in the word “Italian”. If the “integrity of the points system” really existed a lot of Blues would have saved a lot of money.

Couple of lads standing in front of us when we held back where doing coke, right there. One of them was asking if we were still 2 down and how long to go!!! Imagine going to all that effort only to get drugged up and not have a clue.

Was due to fly out this morning on the 9.05am to Milan malpensa.
The old fella who's 93 and quite frail, fell last night and broke his hip.
They were due to operate today and we were told it's more risky for someone his age and frailty.
It didn't feel right to dissappear today while he was on the operating table, so I binned the trip along with the expense it cost.
Don't miss too many euro aways, but at the end of the day, although I love City, it's family first.
Fortunately he's got through the op, but still a long way to go.
As they say, it is what it is.
On the off chance anyone's interested, the old fella passed in the early hours this morning. We've spent over 40 hrs by his bedside as he caught pneumonia, and we were told it’s only a matter of time.
We're lucky our mothers still around and they've been married 67 years, won't find too many who've reached that milestone.
Mams understandably in bits. Typing this full of beer and emotion.
No matter what age we are, when a parent goes and when you're very close to them it hurts
Took me to my first game at maine rd when I was 5 in 1964.
Have loved the journey ever since good and bad.
If the mods or whatever think this is a load of sentimental crap, just erase.
Heads in bits.
R.I.P. Dad.

That's horrible mate

My dad took me to my first City game in 70-71 and judging from your post, we faced similar ups and downs before he passed away in 2011

Wishing you all the best at such a stressful time
