but that doeesnt excuse not competing in the transfer market with them for these players if indeeed we are interested....for instance you say Harvitz is boxed off - well someone goes an unboxes him then with a better offer if that is indeed who we want

Have a hard time believing that one. Last I checked he wanted to join Bayern, Barcelona are also keen on him. Where would he realistically play at Liverpool? If he joins it means at least one of their front 3 is leaving
