Kalidou Koulibaly

Watch this and tell me how he is not a beast of a player. sometimes he takes risk that might seem clumsy. and any player is allowed to have a down year especially in a poor deteriorating team like napoli

Terrific defending but a few bad passes

the thing is, they've made it clear he is for sale, and have already lined up that Gabriel from Lille as his replacement. When push comes to shove are they really going to risk the deal falling apart over a few mil?

I don't know who we can replace Kompany with. I do know he has to be comfortable on the ball, a good distributor, a leader, a commanding figure, both in our box and the opposition's box. In his younger days Kompany played in midfield, so he had awareness and knew how midfielders like to receive the ball, a plus for sure.
How do we replace him? Aka is 5ft 8in tall. Love the way he reads the game and his commitment in the box. Is he commanding? I don't think so.

Ake is 5ft 11, those three extra inches could make a difference ...

Do we really want more interventions/interference by those cnuts?

the transfer window did and is still out of control and the price of players is crazy ? and to think when the bosman rule took the clubs out of control of players contracts and now players just run down the contract and walk away for free ? it means the big money outlet by the buying club is lost, just look at sanchez to united from arsenal ? that deal works out to about £200 million and the player just milking the club (fucking fantastic) by the way

somebody needs to do something and maybe a lid on the price of a player is set and the limit of contracts set at 2 years for every deal and clubs retain the register and get a fee when he moves to another club

Somebody is clearly buying Koulibaly this summer.

Napoli bought Manolas last summer and have reportedly already signed the Lille CB. So Koulibaly is going, the question is where.

Think this is getting done behind the scenes, we’ve constantly been linked to him unlike Diego Carlos.

Perhaps his sources were wrong or wanted that impression given? Time will tell.

Club steer that he is too expensive and weren't going to pay asking price.

That's not to say our stance might not work but we don't want to get into protracted talks with Napoli ever again.

Got bored. Went on a Napoli forum. They don’t seem happy that he’s going. The claim that he should have been sold when Sarri left because of his stock and value around then was over €100million; now they’re selling him for monetary purposes and nothing more. No one believes that Gabriel is a better player than him and the fact a couple of his performances have been below par this season doesn’t reflect him having fallen off a cliff like widely considered, but apparently the same goes for the entire team. They’re not happy with ADL by the sounds of things and all want him to stay.

Sounds similar to Kompany performing below par in 2015/2016 but much due to the fact the team was in fact well below their own standards.

Just thought I’d share my findings from the Neapolitan Bluemoon :-)

He was too expensive at the initial asking price but Napoli’s circumstances have changed dramatically since 2018, so that always had to drop. Similarly, the protracted season and imminent start to the next make protracted negotiations unlikely, so a quick deal should be achievable.
