Kalidou Koulibaly

Are we going to teach the people who made City one of the biggest clubs in the world how to do business? We want to sign good players but at reasonable prices. Overpaying for players, especially during a bad crisis, is not the way forward. Wish some City fans stopped question Txiki and Pep every day now. They want to see City strong more than the fans.

Pretty much nailed it here Alex - well done!!

It seems that 5 million pounds could be the difference between becoming Champions of English Football again.
Or putting a Bony sized deadwood on our hands. These things are a double edged sword. No one is complaining that we balked at the Sanchez deal now...

Stay the course Txiki. You've offered enough. If they don't want it take your money home.

If Koubilaly was the difference between winning the title or not, would you seriously walk away from the title for the sake of 5 million quid?

He isn't. If we were able to predetermine such, it would be pointless playing the games. Since we can't, its best to procede knowing the ranges of possibilities.

One such possibility is KK continuing to suck like he did last year, and another is him returning to his form from 3 and 4 years ago when he was a beast by any standard, but with better supporting cast with us(presumably).

I for one lean towards the former being more likely, but I don't begrudge those who think he'll promptly return to his Beastly form and dominate the Prem and especially the Cunts in red.

Well... Both cunts in red.

I think adding more strength and dynamism to the midfield would play a bigger role than the signing of Koulibaly. Get someone who wouldn't cost as much as Koulibaly and then move for Aouar or Dennis / Partey.

Very much so.

For all the talk of Kompany he actually didnt play as much as people think during last two title wins.

We coped without him because of Fern in midfield.

We missed him in midfield last season.

A huge mistake by the club not to get a similar player in.

Txiki's had 15+ months to sign a Kompany replacement. He has cost us points (and potentially a CL SF) already
Txiki has given Pep pretty much everything he wants. Pep fucked the CL QF and the FA semi by playing a fucking shite team. Otamendi and Stones are no Nesta and Maldini but Pep should be coaching them into better options.

I hate the term thrown around that Pep is a money manager but fck me, this season is going to be a failure because he doesn't get yet another 50m+ defender?

It's both imo.

Kompany was the player Pep went to, when things really got serious. And even when injured, his influence was still there.

Fern takes the weight off the defence in the first place.

Whatever we do in the market, we should be trying to get those elements back into the team, whenever we get the chance, imo.
