Kalidou Koulibaly

Sorry, I'm really struggling with the stupidity here.

We sign players who have never played in England every year. We sign 28/29 year olds often. We sign players who've had injuries before.

I know you have this football manager fantasy where we've already "100% signed" four 18 year olds, but it's all getting a bit odd.

Sorry but I'm really struggling with your "stupidity" here

2016
Nolito (29)

2017
Walker (27)
Danilo (26)

2018
Mahrez (27)

2019
All signings U25

2020

You forgotten Bravo and Otamendi?
Otamendi (27) was in 2015
Bravo (33) is a goalkeeper, I was listing the oldest outfield players signed since 2016.

Oh well if the MEN said it's true, we all better pack up!

In 2016 we had Pep arriving and building a team for the long haul. Now we have 12 or maybe 36 months left of Guardiola at the very most, and that's unlikely.

The process of building a young team is different to plugging experienced players into an already built, successful team.

We have 3 young potential prospects at CB in Tosin, Garcia and THB. We have a 26 year old Laporte as one half of the CB pairing who desperately needs a partner.

These are the situations in which you go out and buy experienced, already world class players, not some French Ligue 2 teenager who might be good enough in 2 years.

Working with and helping young talent develop is a long-term process.

Gabriel Jesus: "Pep is very intense. The main thing you notice is his desire to win, he never drops it but is for our own good. And he likes to work with youngsters and help them develop, that was one of the reasons why I came."

But good thing Pep said, more than ever, he does not want to leave unless sacked.

But naah I think you're right, He will be looking for a new project in like 36 months Max. And as you say:

"These are the situations in which you go out and buy experienced, already world class players, not some French Ligue 2 teenager who might be good enough in 2 years"

Again, what are you trying to prove with this quote? Yeah Pep likes working with young players.

Didn't stop him signing 29 year old Nolito. Didn't stop him getting 33 year old Xabi Alonso, or 29 year old Vidal, or 28 year old Seydou Keita, 28 year old Ibrahimovic, 28 year old David Villa.

So why would it stop him signing Koulibaly?

As shown by his stellar record of him buying 4 players aged 26-29(3 of the 4 are U27) between summer 2016 and summer 2019.

I know this is the transfer forum and stupidity is the order of the day, but I really don't get posting this.

What's it supposed to say? Don't buy a world class defender because he made a mistake?

I guess we should never have gone near this bloke.

Van Dijk gifted Wolves a goal with an absolute howler this season. Guess he's shit too.

I didn't say anything, just posted a video of the mighty +70m , 29 years old with no resale value.

Not against the player, he might be the best.

Just against the idea of spending huge amount of money on old players who are not considered as game changers.

Sorry, who said a world class partner to Laporte wouldn't be a game changer?
