Kalidou Koulibaly

Yeah still less assurance and lack of leadership at the back.

Well read a report yesterday saying European footy is about to be at a loss of €4bn in just the next 2 years but COVID seems to have not impacted prices at all. If anything Championship players are getting sold for £30m +, can't really do much.

It may be that they are all so desperate not to lose their place in the pecking order, that they consider it better to carry on close to normal short term & hope it all sorts itself out.

Interesting stuff mate. Seems contradictory just like the uk economy most are back at work in some form but still the recovery period and debt is getting more serious if u listen to the news.

They don’t. Both KK and ADL wouldn’t mind continue working together until the end of his career. If Napoli don’t receive a good enough offer, he will stay.

KK is a top defender so why would Napoli release him for pennies? If we already had a top defence and KK would be the icing on the cake, then I would make them sweat but it’s a high risk strategy at this point, not only because there are no good options out there, but because we desperately need a defender of his calibre.

Read the article a page back where reports said the price was 100m euros in the beginning of this window. Would certainly explain why this has taken so long.
We shouldn’t be overpaying for him

every signing comes with a risk , his ROI will be very low if he takes time to settle

Napoli do need to sell without CL next season , which is why we are hearing all the noise on a daily basis , create an urgency by setting a price

i agree with the clubs stance , wait for them to blink

I am as city blue as anyone of us here but the thing is Barca and real madrid never really wanted silva and aguero as they had better version of them. Iniesta and xavi were better than silva. Once they retired silva was a older player to buy so they were not after silva. If they really wanted them then being a spanish player he might have considered. Lets take our blue tilted specs out mate. In aguero case they took suarez. However i can agree with ur point in agueros case. Because of the reason that we are probably the best run club aguero was not considered by them. He would have been very difficult to be lured away from us. Kompany was too injured for them to buy.
This might be one of the reason we never won a champions league. Our players were never in top 10 or even top 20/30 best players in the world (till last few years).
Well i took barca and real madrid only because they are the only two clubs who are bigger than city outside england at least today or most of last decade.

I think our best players staying for the rest of their careers at the top level says more about what we as a club offer them, whether that relates to salary, facilities, prospects of trophies, type of people they have as team mates, how they are treated by the club or, in Sergio's case, plenty of rain.I cannot believe that you think David Silva, second highest assist maker for Spain, 4th highest goalscorer for Spain and 6th most capped Spanish player was not good enough for either Barca or Real Madrid. Each to his own but maybe you, like all the Arsenal fans who thought that Ozil was a better player than Merlin, are right. However I think that Barca would have done much better with Silva and Aguero than Coutinho and Dembele

Ollie Watkins 33 mil to Villa, we get Ferran Torres for 20 million,
Give it a rest.

But yet we are STILL trying to overpay for a 29 year old defender and not even getting any closer to securing the deal.

But we still paid £41 for Ake, a defender whose side were relegated last season and who we again overpaid for immensely

But we still wasted 2 weeks waiting for Messi to do what he has done every season for the last 5 at least, whinge, whine and then agree to stay at Barcelona.....all the while, our focus on getting all the other positions fixed we needed was left, until the Messi saga was over.

We got him in very early, yes for a good deal, due to Valencia needing the money and him only having 12 months on his contract left, Ollie Watkins price is stupid, but that is what you get when you are a poor side, you get a wad and throw it around without really improving, we have been in that position, not now, we are supposed to have the masterminds of that great Barcelona era from 2006-2014 at our club, well you would have fooled me, as I bet he wasn't this incompetent when employed by that club.

Give it a fucking rest

Err..NO I won't.

Newsflash as you might not have been aware, but Aguero AND Pep are able to walk at the end of this season if we don't tie them down to new deals, and I cannot remember one being offered as yet, and Txiki has not been completing Transfer business, so what has he been doing these last 3 weeks??.......ISOLATING??

We need a striker NOW to go along with Aguero and Jesus, as neither stay fit all year long, Jesus isn't naturally a striker, but a front man who can operate equally effective anywhere across the front 3, and although his game is different to Aguero, it's not THAT much different that opposing defences have to adapt a new plan, we could do with a target man, a goalscorer and someone to take over from Aguero when he does go, as if it is not this summer, then it is likely to be next, as he wants to go back home to Indipendiente while he still has plenty to give and finish his career, I doubt that he will change his mind anytime soon.....and at 32 is not getting any younger, what do we do, wait until he leaves and then try and get a replacement in?

But we didn't waste 2 weeks. Do you honestly believe that Txiki spoke to Jorge Messi and then turned his phone off for the last two weeks. Ignored emails from Koulibaly's agent and didn't answer the fax machine to Player X who we are also signing.
If anything the Messi deal involves Ferran and Khaldoon, not Txiki.

Txiki has told Koulibaly what the deal is, it is up to his agent to take that to Napoli and get the deal done. Txiki has told ADL he won't speak to him and thats that.

Nothing more to talk about. Txiki is doing other deals for the youngsters and Angelino, more to come most likely also e.g. Otamendi.
