Kalvin released an amazon doc whilst at city and was giving interviews every other week while he was here, so not surprised he did one quickly afterwards. He seems like a genuinely nice guy, and i do think he's mostly tried to avoid being inflammatory in that interview. But generally he could talk a bit less for someone playing so poorly for so long.

Didn’t Phillips knew what sun or any media would do…However balanced interview he did , this statement from him that pep should called out his weight in different way is uncalled for statement.

I agree he does seem a nice guy and I’m not one of the rabid haters but he does seem to give off a bit of a “woe is me” attitude to his setbacks and be a little too passive/not take ownership and make the most of his opportunities. I agree with whoever said the elite mindset just doesn’t seem to be there.

When one remembers the guy is paid c.8 quid a year before any addons or endorsements etc it makes it a little difficult to feel too sorry for him.

So you're saying they should do no interviews at all? That's not going to happen, no matter who they speak to, other media will pick up on it and twist it to suit.

Weird how people can go from not believing anything the media say and being wary of how much they twist stuff to make any story a negative about us to believing everything they read in an absolute joke of a comic renowned for it.

The target weight I assume is a guide to whether you are doing lots of things correctly , sticking to the dietary guidelines, resting and sleep , sticking to training regime etc. and would be one indication and measure to how you are likely to perform and how seriously you are taking your job. Think it won't just have been the weight Pep will have had an issue with and this combined with returning late , maybe not being able to grasp messages in training most likely led to Pep wanting to give him a kick up the backside with the weight remark. Rather than it firing him up it looks to have pushed him back into his shell and upset his mum. Like you say he has failed to reach the bar required and we move on as does he but sounds a little weak in character based on that interview.

Why the f*ck would you talk to the Sun of all papers and not have the final say on the content , whoever is his agent he has been hung out to dry , not sure how much he recieved for the interview but it has damaged any good will with our support.
If he is looking for sympathy due to his struggles not sure it will wash well , £150k a week , best of food , cars, accomodation , travel etc etc whilst some of our fans are struggling to keep the 'leccy on.
