Kalvin Phillips

Loads of clubs want Phillips but none of them have any money , they want to pay a derisory loan fee and probably only cover part of his wages , why should we give a way a £50m asset for next to nothing. We know he wants to play football for the sake of his international career but we dont owe him anything , he has been well paid and overall has disappointed on the pitch.
If a club wants to sign him then let them dig deep and pay the money otherwise he can stay on the bench and cotribute when required

Phillips is done here, it's time to go unless he's OK not playing football for the rest of his contract.

He's basically in the same situation as young Micah Hamilton at this point in terms of when he gets on the pitch except Hamilton is an academy prospect. Phillips has been an international footballer but basically gets a game if we're out of sight and we give him a run out at the end, or it's in a game like a group game when we have already qualified.

I guess the idea is get him out on loan, it puts him in the shop window on a regular basis without us having to play him.

West Ham would be good for him. Moyes seems very keen on him and has shown interest multiple times.

If we can’t get decent money for him then a loan to a club like West Ham makes sense.

For me, rather than asking for a loan fee wouldn’t it be better to stipulate that he cannot play against us and also insert a recall clause just in case we get hit with a lot of injuries. I remember years ago when Hart was on loan at Birmingham and we couldn’t recall him when we needed to.

PL rules state that a player can’t play against his parent club. Kabore and McAtee were both ineligible for our fixtures with their clubs.

We’ll probably get a few million in loan fee plus most of his wages covered, I suspect.

Why would we stop him playing against us ?
Would him playing not be advantage to us :-)
