Kalvin Phillips

Not according to reports at the time, and even Pep loosely said so. But happy for someone to prove me wrong. There was Nasri too.
Bayern sporting director confirmed it. They paid no fee, but eat the wage. Probably both playing the PR game.

Meh, We'll prob end up doing what we did with Nasri and lower transfer, the buying club to settle his contract.

West Ham did it last year, lets see what we can do this summer.
Villa know we want shut, they have seen the state Phillips is still in pre-season, if I was a Villa official and witnessed that "cameo" I would be telling Emery, Non Senior, move along.

If they do still want him it will be a free loan, us paying at least 50% of his wage and no option to buy.

Makes me wonder if stepping away from the league itself, maybe even moving countries would be a better idea for the guy. Girona have lost Aleix Garcia, could be an option to send him there for a season.

That being said, I still don't think we need a true DM as Rodri cover. Someone who can see out 25-30 minutes of games, let him sit out for cup games here and there would be ideal. If that has to be 2 players, maybe a Rico and Kovacic then that works fine by me.

The guy is broken and will he ever get back to any sort of level as a pro?

I genuinely have my doubts, it's a huge gamble for any club to take him on, even if we gave him away.

As sports director Hasan Salihamidzic confirmed to „Bild“ football chief Christian Falk, no loan fee flowed for the Portuguese outside defender in the direction of Manchester City. Because of the „network“ this coup was successful. Accordingly, Bayern „only“ has to pay the salary until the end of the season, which is around 15 million euros gross per year. Thus, the fees of the record champion are about 7 million euros.

That'll do me. Glad for that. Did see one where they claimed otherwise, but will take that as I'd rather it was true. Ta.
