Kalvin Phillips

Phillips has been injury free for 6 months
Yes and Rodri recently said, he can't play another 60 games this season. So do you think, that might be down to the fact, Pep over played him last season, and wasn't 100% ready to trust Kalvin. Pep needs to show a little faith in the lad. Because if God forbid we lose Rodri for a fair amount of time, who do we have to replace him

He has shown Pep nothing to suggest he could give Rodri a rest, Kovacic has done more in 3 games than Phillips has done in 12 months, and that's just fact.

Rodri has totally been overplayed but that's simply because we have not has a suitable backup.

Or trust. Pep is fast becoming a manager who lacks trust in our backup players. Hence KDB playing the last two months with a hamstring problem. Hopefully Foden has given him a little more faith in having trust in them

Let's be honest if Lilo/Pep left out Rodri at Sheffield this weekend and put in Phillips would any of us trust a positive result?

I would have worries, even against Sheffield.

The drop odd from Rodri to Phillips is huge, too big and hopefully Nunes/Kovacic would address this.

Phillips has been fully fit since the New Year.

It's desperate that there are still some on here that think he's good enough and moreover that the club are incapable of making the odd mistake.

It'd be like trusting a fireplace with a chocolate fireguard. I'm willing to bet he won't start another Prem match as long as he's here.

Also the narrative that he is a figure of hate.

He has never been hated, we all want him to succeed, he wears our shirt , why would we not want him to be successful?

He simply has not performed and it looks more and more like he never will to an acceptable level.
