Kalvin Phillips

When he does get game time against lesser opponents in cups, or against teams when we are 2 or 3 up, he dosnt seem engaged enough. I would expect a player trying to stake his claim in one of the best teams in football to be about it every time he plays. Rico seems to get this concept, I don't see the same fire with Kalvin.

I think he is trying not to do too much. And I agree that's the better attitude to have. Used to hate when Cole Palmer would come into a game late and try to dribble 3 players at every opportunity or always looking for his own shot.

I hate hero football. It's the difference between great players and average ones. Average but very talented players play hero ball.

You see it with all the forwards on midtable to relegation fighting teams. Always rushing, never see the last pass or the early pass coz their thinking affects their vision.

I think there is a good player in there but he does not suit our playing style, also the shoulder injury and having to pin it into place so it does not keep popping out has sort of made him less mobile or less confident in challenges

Maybe just loaning him so he can get game time for the euro's and then sell if he wants to stay at the loan club
Pep would like to sell him in the winter window and then try and get one more back in, I think pep does not even care if any of the big clubs want him, He will be happy for him and maybe get the money to sign somebody else

i don't see the point in loaning, i pretty sure we can get the most money back in the winter, simply because lot of clubs struggling with the injuries atm

I think because it is the winter window coming up clubs like to loan with a view before buying, City do this a lot and can find it hard to get a player off the books because of the good wage he's on, Also players know this and can just sit on the wage because of the length of his contract,

But I feel Phillips wants to play football and will go on loan and then come back and try again in pre-season.

try again for what? i mean, isn't it over for lad? i know, his wages is the issue, but i'm sure there are PL clubs that could afford it this winter. however, the best outcome for us would be a swap for paqueta if his name is cleared, will see i guess..
