Kaoru Mitoma

Txiki will value him at 40m tops and that would be a very generous offer for a player that cost 2.6m and was on loan 12 months ago.
I agree we should not be paying more than that if we are interested. But I think there is no chance at all of Brighton accepting that, unless there is some kind of release clause we are unaware off.

I have Bony vibes around Mitoma and Bony had done a lot more in a poorer side. Mitoma has only had 1 season in a credible league. If it was for £30m to £40m would understand someone taking the risk (though not one we need to take). Talk of £80m is insane and if this is the option would prefer to keep Palmer or have another stab with Sane.

So, Brighton will now demand a hefty fee to sell Mitoma amid interest from Arsenal in his transfer. The Seagulls value the Kawasaki, Kanagawa-born dynamo at €35m (£31m) – just 18 months after paying Kawasaki Frontale a bargain £2.5m for his transfer in August 2021.

That was the reported fee in February, when he started getting links with Arsenal. Surely cant be up to 80 by now.

Brighton are also bringing in Kudus for 40m euro so may be willing to let him go.

Grealish / Silva / KDB / Foden
Mitoma / Kova / Foden / Palmer

throw the bag at Wirtz next summer? I'd like this kid I think over the other names about.

In fairness, the only 'talk' of 80m, is people getting carried away with rating him world class based on the last couple of months of the season. And the fact we are linked with nobody else. One of the best wingers in the league, sure.

The first half of the season, he had only two 90 minute appearances. He averaged 17 minutes a game. He only started playing full games after/because Brighton sold Trossard to Arsenal. Credit where due, he performed for Brighton, and is worthy of being noticed and mentioned. But is he fuck even a 50m player never mind more than that.

expected goals + assists stats per 90, put him just behind Haaland & Kev for last season. Surprised me would have had him at least behind mahrez, phil, gundo as well.

more i see more i like, but no idea what txiki is thinking this summer.
