Have you seen the two players run next to eachother? i doubt that. But what i also seriously doubt is that a 19 year old athletic guy can be slower then demichelis, who is seriously slow..

I haven't seen Daniel Sturridge running next to Spencer Prior either but I've an idea who would win.

But perhaps you're right & I'm imagining it. You can see his acceleration when in trouble on here tbf & also why you are all so impressed with his defensive qualities & potential for the first team.

Perhaps it is just me being unreasonable.

and quality, Rekik's positional sense is good, therefore he doesn't need to be quick, unfortunately at PSV he's playing next to a lunatic Centre Half who thinks his basic position is behind the other goal.

Could you please point me to it so I can see it for myself. If he has made a huge improvement recently then I'm quite happy to be wrong. The only stuff I've seen rates Bruma as twice as good as Rekik but I don't trust the stats.

Well there you go then, you don't think he's good enough to be in our squad either, which is EXACTLY what I am saying.

I don't think he will last five minutes playing for anybody in the Premier League next season either & would be dropped like a stone after a few games but if he does well for someone I will be delighted for him. Imo though, his best place to play football is where he is now, it is the right level for him.

I think he should be given a shot! He is only 19 centre backs don't peak till their late 20's! He is still developing and learning his craft and if he stay here he will simply be replacing Lescott. I think he is solid could do with be abit more aggressive instead of backing off but has shown plenty of promise.

I can see him becoming a big hit in serie A with its more defensive style, his way of trying to read the game and not over commiting would go well there.

As for us I think our current set up exposes the cbs quite a lot and I don't think it would suit his skill set. This isnt a slight on the lad, only Kompany has seemed to have adapted well to this new style (and he's the best cb going) but I think throwing him in the deep end might do more harm than good, another loan next yeae to the serie a would do wonders for him

I do think Rekik will get his opportunity pre season though & then people can judge exactly how he looks compared to the standard we need.

I expect him to be terrible, but if he looks good, I'll say so & I'll be absolutely delighted.

I doubt many will admit if he is awful though, as those who were bulling Savic up still refuse to admit he was bobbins.
