Karim Rekik

Wow, your last post is the most exaggerated I've seen from you on that topic, Nev and that's something to say.

It's like the more you give an opinion on Rekik, the more you believe your own words. Now it's Balotelli with one of his easiest games when he was playing against Karim.

I reckon the next time you will state that Balotelli actually scored a hattrick against PSV that day.

It's what's called a measured intelligent piece of football discussion based on actually watching the player & the games mentioned & evaluating the positives & negatives of his play rather than watching a ten second clip & writing 'wow this lad looks class, lets put him in the team next season'.

Perhaps you would like to give me examples of why I'm wrong & from which evidence you are basing that opinion, rather than just picking on me personally & accusing me of lying ?

You are one of the only people i heard saying balotelli had an easy game and rekik was shat. Rest of the world raved about him.

You are one of the only people i heard saying balotelli had an easy game and rekik was shat. Rest of the world raved about him.

Well that's not strictly true is it ?

Imo the only people who raved about Rekik in those games, were people who had already decided that if he didn't trip over his own feet, they were going to be impressed, because he's young, or people who didn't actually watch much of it. By the end of the 2nd game, the commentator was actually making excuses for him being so completely shit, the kind of "it's difficult for a young player in a game like this" kind of idea, as he blunderd from one out of position challenge to another.

I know that, as I watched both games avidly, just purely watching Rekik & evaluating him. Not because I hate him & I want him to fail, but because I used to think he was a fantastic prospect & I want him to succeed.

I'm not going to lie about it though. He was crap. Some people think that if you are a young player, in a decent level game, being able to stand up & make the occasional pass is all that's required in order to prove you are the dog's bollocks.

Emyr Huws was 'ok' but nothing special for Wales, & that has been blown out of all proportion. But he is imo, much closer to the required level than Rekik, who, at least last time I saw him, was absolutely nowhere near it.

If Rekik suddenly starts to look like a genuine top prospect for our team, like he did when he first arrived, & I see it, then I'll be on here raving about it.

Rekik graded out with a 8.13 over at whoscored.com against mid-table Utrecht Saturday - 3rd best grade in the match. He won 3 aerial duels for PSV - most on the team. He also topped the match list with 7 tackles. He passed successfully at an 89% rate over 90 touches. PSV won 1-0, holding the opposition to just 6 shots- none on target. Rekik? Obviously, he was crap. And I don't say that because I hate him & I want him to fail.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Rekik this summer

With Lescott an endangered species, Demichelis's inadequacies, and Nastasic struggling with injurys, theres a squad place up for grabs and maybe even a starting spot with Vinny depending on recruitment.

I like Rekik, I hope he gets a chance

3 aerial duels won, v Utrecht ? And an 8.13 rating ? Then obviously that's conclusive stuff.

Not only that, but whoscored gives him & average rating of 7.18., impressive. Only six players on PSV's team rate higher than him, & only two of them are defenders. So obviously, he goes straight into a City squad, in the Premier League.

That lad Bruma gets an average rating of 8.34, & is only 22. We could do worse.

Seeing as we are short of English lads, , one had a rating of 8.37 on Saurday, in the Premier League. Jones I think his name was.

Thislad has an average passing success rate of 87.2 %, in the Prem, compares with Rekik's 87.4% average, in the Erdevise. Smilar number of games played. Obviously, we have all admired Jones' skills on the ball, but his average tackles per game is 2.5, in the Premier League, compared to Rekik's 1.7, in the Erdevise.

As a defender, Jones is rated 7.8, in the Premier League, compared to Rekik's 7.16, in the Eredevise.

Mind you, his partner, lad called Smalling, is also rated higher than Rekik, perhaps we could make a double bid.

But then Bruma, 8.34. Surely he has to be the one ? If Rekik is 7.16 & he's such a talent, Bruma must be fucking amazing.

The stats don't lie.

And yes, I'm being a **** & yes, the snidey little line at the end of your post, deserves it.

It's what it said when I looked at it, all the top players in the list were high marks. Am willing to take your word for that figure though, as Bruma is fucking shite.
