Keir Starmer

Spot on - As much as I hate the Tories and what they’ve done Starmer just leaves me cold, I’m just not convinced he is strong enough. Add to that the absolute shit show he will inherit and it all looks like a catastrophe waiting to happen. Reality is the country is in dire straits and I don’t really see anyone anywhere, with the exception of Gordon Brown who is now too old, who could steer us through these troubled waters.

I‘m not interested in ‘strength‘ - not even sure what it means? Is he not shouty enough or something? What we need is competence. The stupidity is slowly killing us.

Thanks Bigga. I've just been reading up on Neoliberalism and I get what you're saying. But
I've seen enough of Johnsons lies and after experiencing the awful consequences of 13 years of Tory rule I dont think I'll be voting Conservative in the next General Election.
Thanks anyway. CTID

I did say Starmer was very similar with lies, just not Johnson.

I can't bring myself to vote for this version of 'Labour' nor The Cons.

Be voting Green.

Back it up then, tell me about his lack of morals and lack of principles? I'd like to know so I can make a considered opinion at the ballot box. Go on tell me.

I presume you paid absolutely no attention to the leadership campaign then? Try that for starters. Dye in the wool leftie to dye in the wool Tory. Vote for him, I don’t care … I get a Tory government either way.

To be fair to starmer he does own two union flags as having a flag makes you more patriotic and we all should get one, it will make us a stronger nation

and has promised to catch them pesky fly tippers and make them clean up the litter (a local government matter if honest)

both chief prioities that this rotten tory government have let slide.

as least he hasn't been quiet on whether he would scrap the stop the boats, the Rowandan policy, more NHS privatisation, Austerity (let's not ask reeves view on welthfare), PFI in transport, energy and education etc
He has been quite forthright in letting us know most of these will probably be kept if they are a workable policy after a review.

sadly he never mentioned pot holes, now that would win him votes :-)

Dont presume anything, I'm aware of his leadership campaign and he hasn't delivered his pledges because they are actions that can only be done when he is in No.10. I dont see how you can call him out on something that he hasn't had the chance to do yet. When he's in power we can bring him to account but not yet.

So you are saying if Starmer becomes PM on the back of a centre right manifesto and then completely ignores it and returns to his more left leaning leadership credentials that is when we should judge him?

Either way he will have proven to be a lying twat who says whats needed to get what he wants, much like the dross we have now

this is why many peoples confidence is low, seems whoever we get in will be either crazy right wing conservatism we are lumbered with now and are sick of or cameron/osbourse soft right conservatism served up in a red tie

What you don't seem to understand @Jamshopbridge, is that [ironically] a politician should stand on their principles.

Starmer ran on 'pledges' nobody forced him to say and even then he backtracks on his own 'promises' that supposed to help the people. There's brilliant evidence on this in the previous pages.

So how does one trust a politician that doesn't have the courage of their own convictions to, at least, stick to what they say until getting into power??

I expect 95% of these cnuts to switch tact with power. I don't expect any of them to pretend they didn't say what they said when it's all documented in history!

Opposition parties will often have to change their position as the landscape of the Country changes in line with current Government operations.

No problems with that

Whilst that's true in some instances, almost a complete 180 is unheard of before getting into gov!

The core of what's said, you'd expect to stay, would you not...?

Narrator: He really did care.
