We actually need more children, not fewer. Our failure as a nation to replace ourselves is one of the roots of large-scale immigration, which strangely, the people who dislike subsidising children tend to dislike.

Secondly, child poverty leads to crime, disaffection and low educational outcomes none of which are a Good Thing.

There is this concept called 'Enlightened Self-Interest.' It seems to be over the heads of many or even most in this country.

Had a high profile labour party officer say hello on picket line today.

Labours national policy forum is being held in Nottingham over the weekend. I asked them if Keir was coming up on train from London tomorrow. He told me the glorious leader doesn't do train travel or other public transport "For security reasons."

Didn't seem to be an issue for his predecessor.

You are a bit of a distasteful person, tbf, but probably only to those who actually care for others.

The reality is that we have an ageing population and not enough people to cover the surplus, therefore having to bring in people from overseas. Instead of encouraging ‘growth’, this government stifles it and I do wonder if many in the Cabinet are there just to bring down this country for their own means.

The question is, what will they get out of it, and to whom do they pander?
