Keir Starmer

Streeting's comments were said on a recent episode of the i newspaper podcast, Labour’s Plan For Power.

He said he hopes to get “quite tough on NHS England” to work with private sector companies on improving the service, and to invest in new technology.

“I want those entrepreneurs that are coming up with cutting edge treatments and technologies to know that when they come up with a great idea that can deliver better outcomes for patients and better value for taxpayers’ money, they’re not going to struggle to get through the front door of the NHS,” Streeting told the paper.

“could have been said by a Tory

No mistake NHS England is privatisation using NHS as a brand name Labour are not promising to reverse the privatisation only close the deal.
Have the guts to reveal NHS has been privatised that expecting a reversal of our services is just a pipe dream.
Nothing to vote for we’ve gone the way of America “the have and the have nots.”

The truth is, and we’d all like to do it, but you cannot just reverse where we are at the moment. We need mass funding and training, which will take many terms, and in the meantime we will have to turn to the private sector for sustainment.

Just like all the other privatised areas, they’ve managed not only to have it working against the people it is supposed to support, the Tories have also managed to give them massive taxpayer subsidies which have made them even more profitable. All disappearing from this country.

We can partially reverse it if there was a will but the current Government would rather give tax breaks to the very rich. Stop using the NHS brand name, it was our NHS pretending to the general public it’s not been privatised when it has, just to stop legitimate protest they keep pretending
NHS England have several multi story offices in Downing Street people being paid a fortune out of taxpayers money.
The number of hospitals in Manchester that have been sold off and the land sold off to private developers housing now it’s all congested on one site the MRI

Withington General
Burton house old peoples hospital
The Northern General Cheetham hill
Ancoats General
Beech mount maternity
Pendlebury children’s hospital
I forgot the Jewish hospital

After they sold all of these taxpayers hospitals up and down the country how come there is still not enough money for the NHS They can’t be trusted anymore land in Manchester costs a fortune the only people to benefit is the politicians

I’m a Labour voter and Starmer is the first leader since Blair I’ve had any real faith in.
So you are not a Socialist, you are a centrist who is quite happy supporting Capitalist power.
There’s a lot of centre leaning Labour voters who’ve been left out in the cold for the last 15 years.
Oh! poor darlings, the Left of the party has been out in the cold for most of the parties existence.
Though during Corbyn’s reign and brexit I did lend my vote to the Lib Dems.
Outed yourself as a Tory enabler, thanks for helping to bring about the worst Government in UK history.

To be fair this already happens through organisations like Innovation Health Manchester. Some of the Innovations have already made themselves into everyday NHS use and are helping to improve lives and healthcare outcomes. IH Manchester is at the forefront of health innovation and does it in partnership with our Universities , Hospitals, researchers and business. It has just been awarded a big chunk of Government money to launch the Health Accelorator which will speed up the use of tech in the NHS. The NIHR also funds what is known as the Applied research collaboration GM (arc-gm) that is doing loads of research especially relevant to the issues people of Manchester face.

I have no issue with it at all, i see the benefits and some of what is happening is brilliant for the people of Manchester. The GM care record, the SDE (Secure Data Environment) are just two areas that could potentially be game changing.

I dont think the fucking idiot Streeting understands or even knows about this, and if he does he hasn't got a fucking clue about how it works. They are not getting into the front door of the NHS, They are working to innovate for the NHS.

Take research as an example, i am a co-applicant on a research bid alongside a Doctor from Salford Royal looking into a new programme of work practices. She is still in clinic but in her secondary role as dermatology lead lecturer at Manchester University we have applied for funding from the National Institute of Health Research. This programme may eventually include some input from Business as we will need certain tech available. The point of the research is not to make a businessman rich it is to improve health outcomes for a certain section of society, If it proves to be the case then surely it is a good thing.

If you support a Labour party that doesn't support capitalism then you are the greatest Tory enabler of them all. You support a party that could only win an election in your imagination. The Labour of Corbyn brought about this worst government in UK history.
