Keir Starmer

I suggest you read what I've said on the subject.
Is that the one where you suggest putting Abbott in the Lords, even though you think she deserves to be kicked out of the party?

Makes sense.

And regardless of whether she should be booted out or denied the chance to stand for election again, it's irrelevant as to how poorly Starmer has handled it all.

We have reached overdrive imho, the writing is on the wall for the spiteful part of the Labour party and they don't like it.

I'm voting for Starmer because the Tories are too shit to be even considered.

You know, the failed US politician (who sold out her ideology in the end) once said "Voting for Biden is like eating a half a bowl of shit".

I think that's very apt for the Sunak/ Starmer position.

Either way, it's just shit.

This version of the Conservative Party are many things but centrist is not one of them.

There's a reason Labour are 20 points ahead in the polls, they are virtually unchallenged in the centre ground.

I'm boring myself to death saying this over and over but whoever owns the centre wins, especially when it comes to Labour. Blair (and credit to Mandelson and Campbell for masterminding the strategy and comms) is the perfect example of this.

Agree to disagree on this.

Both parties have moved extremely close to each other, so either they are centrist or right wing.

It doesn't seem to matter either way as they move together in any Overton Window that allows it.

You need to stop drinking pal.

I said she's been mistreated and deserves to be able to contest her seat as a labour candidate.

I said she could've been offered a place in the lords as a dignified exit a day or two ago but we're now past that point I feel. Politics moves fast in a campaign cycle.

I couldn't disagree more but fine. I know a lot of people on the left feel that way.

basically liking a tweet explaining a sketch by a famousn jewish american political and satirical commentator gets you deselected (which even Jon Stewart calls crazy)

being openly ignorant, racist and by sensible standards anti-semetic gets you parachuted into a safe seat

A leader that picks you on how far up his arse your nose can go or how much you can lay into parts of the party you don't like isn't a leader who you can trust.

Not that your opinion matters, but you actually said that she's brought it all on herself. Which makes rewarding her with a place in the Lords all a bit odd.

And the dignified exit is no longer an option because Starmer mishandled the situation, which was the subject of my post.
