Keir Starmer

He's the anti Boris in many ways.

However if elected he won't make any real change for the people that voted for him. Even if he manages a Blair like first term majority. Like Biden he will promise so much and deliver little.

Simply stopping the slide into the mire of corruption being pursued by the current government would be a major win. Undoing some of the more draconian measures being enacted would also be welcomed.

If you don’t think Starmer would make a big difference over the current incumbents then you aren’t paying proper attention to what the cunts are up to.

I will canvass for the party and him to get rid of these Bastards.

Starmer will have the Tories media mates and trolls on social media spreading malicious BS he protects nonces. But should he win it will be like Biden, a high with a crushing sense of disappointment when the stuff he promises is watered down to keep his donors happy after fucking off the trade unions that built the party.

If he wins, for me it will be a massive relief.

But I accept it will be a battle victory and the war against the libertarian billionaires goes on. Frankly, given the stupidity of our electorate I think long term we are fucked.

It will depend on how many are drawn into fuel poverty.

The more money becomes an issue for people, the less corruption they will allow the Tories to get away with.

I have my views as you know. I will reluctantly back him to get this shower of shite out of power and as a lawyer an criminal investigation when in power wouldn't go amiss.

I know a vicar whose church was in Hartlepool and they loved Corbyn and vocally called out Starmer in the run up to the by-election up there. They were interviewed on TV etc about it.

When the Tory won, I asked them if they had got their wish regarding Starmer.

I am still awaiting an answer.

To be fair he is probably still celebrating the introduction of 10-12 foodbanks in Hartlepool plus a couple of baby banks and some clothes banks - thanks to a Tory victory poverty and deprivation will continue to be a growth success story in Hartlepool

They’ve since moved elsewhere.

Just watching Sophie Ridge go in on Kier Starmer like an angry Norman Hunter - constant interruption - asking a question then butting in 5 words into the answer she is in on him.

Her treatment of Gove was remarkably different - so soft with him by contrast

Private school jolly hockey sticks Sophie being leaniant on a Tory bastard. Who knew?

I'm surprised she didn't go easy on Kier as well then
Starmer never gets an easy ride. Last time I listened in they tried to suggest that he supported Corbyn’s policies WRT Russia, even though Corbyn didn’t have those policies and Starmer has moved to put his own in place.

There is now in -built bias in all the press - google Kier Starmer tonight and go to news and the twitter bit reports on him setting out Labours beliefs ref our energy policy requirements and him saying the Govt's refugee response is too poor and too mean

However every paper - including the Guardian - and SKY news lead on JK Rowlings comments on his views on transgender issues

Labour are City - can't buy decent press coverage

Reminds me a bit of City.

Approximately 9m of the 35m people employed in UK workforce have jobs that define them as working class.

The UK has a highly skilled workforce compared to the last time your type of politics were in power mate, back in the 70s over 40% of the workforce were in roles that defined them as working class - put another way social mobility has verifiably happened for millions of people.

The road to salvation is that over half the country still identify themselves as working class. Although in surveys over the years the number that immediately jump to being working class, without being prompted to pick working or middle, have declined to some extent.

So I’m afraid mate whilst your campaign to fight a class war may get plenty of “hear hear’s” down the social club or on here when push comes to shove turkeys don’t vote for Christmas so its time to find a different tune that taps into working class values but leaves that class war shite in the past where it belongs. Until then we will never get a socially just system.

Out of interest did you take the Great British class calculator the bbc ran a few years back? I know it had critics so it’s a bit of fun - but if you fancy it answer honestly and let us know if you scored above traditional working class ;)

All sensible stuff that - I cannot think of any people that I know that are still living in the 70s - people have aspirations and have moved onwards and upwards so to speak.

And surveys like the one you linked will reinforce that movement has happened in the minds of people

Labour in favour of increasing spending on defence.

Slowly but surely, Starmer making Labour electable by attracting those of us in the centre. Good to see.
