Just read that a leaked Labour document has said they plan to get the working classes back through patriotism, displaying the Union flag, and positioning themselves as very supportive of veterans.

That’s going to confuse a lot of their members and more ardent supporters. Everything they love and hate under one roof.

He's also just reinstated a load of blairites who were suspended over the independent investigation undermining the former leader.

He's also revoked funding for local council election canvassing groups for supporting left leaning councillors.

It very much reads like, 'this is what we believe the Conservative Party did to win over the Red Wall so by doing the same we can win that support back'. A very simplistic ill-thought out strategy.

Lol, saw this yesterday, Boris accusing Max Headroom of championing
the EMA, and the fact that he's done this 4 times, and it's all on record.
Cue, stammering Starmer saying he said no such thing, ie; lying through
his back teeth, and a grovelling apology later.
This bloke. supposedly a lawyer, is obviously a shit one too, if you're
going to tell lies, you need a very good memory, and even then the truth eventually comes out.

I'm smiling at his antics now, someone in the Labour party has told
him the absolutely astonishing news that traditional Labour supporters are
patriotic, and support the monarchy and armed forces. Jezza and Co. destroyed that section of their base, and got slaughtered, he's an avowed
anti monarchist, so any efforts he makes will be comical to watch.
It's like trying to get Jacob Rees Mogg to champion the virtues of Dianne Abbott.

To be fair, it was pretty clearly a misunderstanding rather than a lie as such.

The issue now is more the EMA have been politicised in all of this. Supporting remaining a member of them and at the same time advocating our vaccine rollout strategy isn’t the contradictory position Johnson was pushing it was. It’ll stick even more now though so it was a real gaffe from Starmer.

Didn’t mind taking the knighthood though at the time, which just shows principles maybe aren’t what I thought they were.
