Keir Starmer

Have you met her?

I got quite the opposite impression when talking to her. Maybe her accent Is too working class for your ears.

She can't be that bright if she doesnt realise how she comes across in interviews. She is also a gobby dick.

A group of us went to school grew up in the same area, she's not bright at all. Got in with the union whilst working as care assistant or similar, married high into the union went from there.

She is at least more in tune with the man/woman on the street the private school entitled clowns that inhabit all the political parties.

She left school pregnant with no qualifications whatsoever. Blagged her way in politics from being a shop steward and got the safe seat which she just held onto in the last election. Her seat consists of three towns and she lost to the Tories in one and won the other two which got her over the line. Not sure how she got where she is to be frank.

And there lies one of the problems, and one labour fall into the trap of a lot.

She got pregnant young, didn't do well at school, did menial jobs and has a strong local accent and identity.

For some that equates to being thick, having academic achievements doesn't automatically make you inteligent or awash with common sense.

Labour have suffered from such notions by some of it's MPs and staf, the same sneering that remainers had, and until labour stops this "people are uneducated if they disagree with us and need us to tell them what's best for them" attitude and change it to a "what can we do to help" one it is fucked.

Tories don't have this problem are they dislike the public anyway and the public knows it but one thing the british don't like is being talked down to and labour have been doing it for a long while.

btw she may be not that clever, I don't know her, but I doubt she is thick as was posted.

And here's another example of a myopic interpretation of the UK, it's
now in a 'Dire state.' Labour have spent the last 16 years giving the impression
that the country is on its knees with the wicked Tories showing no interest in
the people, and handing all their money to their 'mates.'
They portray Britain as some Dickensian hellhole with millions in poverty.
Facts, statistics, welfare payment amounts, all available online, are dismissed and ignored. Workers look around and don't see this rampant poverty, they then look at the people propounding this view, and they see middle class, pampered bubble brats like Jones and Sarkar.
Unless the party ditches this mindset it's gone forever.
AC doing his best Comical Ali impression.
The problem with that route is you will never get in power. A poster on here said most people in the UK are in the centre politics wise, I think thats true. As a country we always reject extremism, there has never been the support for the far right in this country like there is on the continent. Surely its better to wrap up some socialist policies in a more centre left party ans inact some like Blair did than never implementing any?
What is the centre?

She has been on the list of Anti-Semites to be purged for some time. She endorsed a book that accuses Jews of exploiting the holocaust for political means, and also in 2003 said after a visit to nazi death camps that they had become commercialised. RBL (already gone) and Dianne Abbott are also on the list.
Apparently she's upthet and dithguthted.

If Starmer did resign could Burnham stand as he isn't an MP? Done a quick Google but can't find of you have to be an Mp or not.
Good point, I think there's been a PM who lost his seat but not the job, so
it's probably available to him, but as you say, I can't find out either.

Burnham would be mad to touch it at this stage, every path open to Starmer leads to a lot of in fighting. Would be the same with whoever is in charge. They have lost too much in Scotland and in the north currently to be successful. The north will probably come back eventually.

You have two sides arguing their way will bring success, neither will at the moment. Unless the Tories are caught kicking babies into the Thames they are in trouble. With our general public that would probably only mean no overall majority:-)

Whoever is in charge doesn’t have a chance with all this in-fighting. Starmer is clearly doing a reshuffle which, when one of them is told, somebody then runs to the media.

If Raynor was as thick as you say then she took advantage of all the learning opportunities her union gave her. (They used to offer standard educational GCSE courses under a project called union learning, as well as political/legal/employment courses). She also learned how to understand her union Constitution and the mechanisms of parliament. Proven by emergency questions/debates she's brought the floor as either a shadow minister or deputy leader.

Just because someone from a northern town has a child at a young age doesn't make them thick.

There's some Tory MPs in the house of commons on name alone as it's a safe seat passed through their families who wouldn't look out of place in monty python sketch.I suppose as they are only there as a hobby to stop them constantly sucking on nanny's tit they are ok.

Burnham won't go back into that bearpit. He was spat out last time after standing for leader.

Rumour has it they are doing a pass the parcel with things can only get better as the music. When the music stops you’re out. Currently arguing about who stops the music and if they should have to wear a blindfold.

Starmer has called for an independent judicial inquiry to resolve the problem and Rayner believes the system is systematically stacked against minority groups and believes the music genre should be changed each time it stops to show solidarity to all groups.

Social justice for pass the parcel players is currently top of the agenda, the poorest member of the shadow cabinet gets a state supplied Harmonica to blow and a packed lunch.
