Keir Starmer

Oh come on. Only a leader like Angela has the gravitas, knowledge, skills and experience to reunite the country and deal with on going issues like climate change.
Its slim pickens out there but Ange would be as big a turn off for voters as Labour could pick, awful woman.

They will be out in the wilderness if they appoint Rayner, she's a massive turn off for most.
I'm all for representation from anyone who is not part of the Eton/oxford clique this lot need ousting, (some type of proportional representation system maybe) and more of the (wo)man on the street but this one is a weapon absolute numbskull I'm baffled how she got as far as she has......

He’s making a start.
Abolishing the charitable status of public schools.
Gets my vote.

Never fucking understood how they have that status - except for that its a tax break that benefits the rich.......oh and we have had most number of years since WW2 with a Tory Govt......................... in fact Labour also has a lot to answer for - take this status away from the cunts.

To avoid this just being the politics of envy the real challenge is not only to abolish the 2-tier (class) system of education, but also to honestly address the elephant in the room and make state/comprehensive education as good. Besides the inherent class divide it seems to come down to opportunities, class sizes and MONEY - which lies at the base of small class sizes and large opportunities. We need to find a way of making comprehensive education that well resourced and that good.

alternative view is lets level DOWN Eton to Grange Hill and see how long there is suddenly a recognised need to level up Grange Hill to the level of Eton.

Not hard just needs political will and funding

I think we need to uplift Grange hill at the same rate as we smash Eton or all we achieve is a class-war victory rather than a societal change. Won't pretend I have the answers though.

Comes across as condescending and gobby with a bit of a nasty attitude thrown in. She worked for the council where I know a few people and opinions were not good.

Labour would be wise to choose someone else imho.

watching Starmer right now on Marr..... fuck me .... do you have a dog? Will it be Labour leader? Can it bark once for yes and twice for no? Just that Starmer can't even bark................no is said with 1000 words ffs

Have you seen her comments in front of a group of journalists at the conference. I want my politicians a little more polished than some drunk bloke down the pub.

Marrs questions are 50/50 some on things people care about the rest baiting starmer over shit no one gives a fuck about.

Just went back on most pledges he got elected on and really told us nothing, except he won't call tories scumbags.

Right about johnson though and how being a liar seems to be overlooked because he shows off.

Didn’t see it sounds fun:-) seen enough interviews with her mind to know she isn’t a vote winner on performance or personality.

Not watched it mate, so if Starmer is too passive and bland who stands out for you if anyone? I’m struggling tbh but I don’t watch politics as closely as I used to. Please don’t say Nandy.

I have met Nandy - she is cut from the same cloth as Starmer - lots of words to say fuck all. She did her best to leave an indelible blank on the mind. I'd go with Rayner because she ticks the working class boxes - if they want to reconnect with "real" people and their experiences she at least lived a real life

Hard to get exited about someone whose only quality is ticking a working class box. Especially as they need Middle England voters. Gobby aggressive working class northerner doesn’t see like a match made in heaven.

Comments made to activists, calling a Tory government scum, hardly worth talking about is it?

I doubt Raynor could win a general election with the regional snobbery that exists in this country and still those many who feel threatened or socially conditioned to not accept a working class person (man or woman) being in charge.

However her comments yesterday are all true of this government and I want an opposition calling them out for being the scum they are, so I have no issue with her comments or the manner she gave them.

Starmers a shithouse, won't even call them lower than vermin, something that has been said before by labour so isn't a taboo or antisocial
