At some point unless they like being in this little cult they need to realise all the info is out there. The great British public know what the tories are like. They are aware of what they have done but people will vote for them anyhow.

Posters on here are doing exactly what the Mail does and they don't see the irony.

In summary people are just too lazy and ignorant to be bothered to engage with politics and stick there cross in the box, that they think will give them something and cause the least bother to them personally.
 
Saddened and appalled by the news of the investigation into Beergate. I’m going to spend as much time and effort being offended by this as I was partygate. So sell you all in a few weeks when I can calm down.
 
Wouldn’t surprise me if he resigns if charged with anything. The timing of it all seems laughable given that picture has been public knowledge for months. It all seems to be grasping at straws but i’m still not sure who benefits if he’s gone.

I have no doubt Starmer would resign if found guilty of any wrong doing.

If that occurs I'd be intrested to see how the party reacts. Would we reelected him unopposed or having another dirty leadership campaign playing into Johnsons hands?

He probably could ride it out and not resign, but I think the whole situation would get to him in the end and he’d eventually have to go.

You can tell by his demeanour that he’s feeling the pressure at the moment, whereas for Johnson it’s all part of his daily routine and water off a duck’s back.

Genuinely interesting as to what happens next to Labour if he does go.

I’d be very surprised if he is found to have broken the rules. There’s nothing in the public domain to suggest he has yet, someone might have told the police more though.

I've discussed this tonight with some fellow LP members at an unofficial meeting.

Wes Streeting is already touting himself to take over. He sent a text to our CLP sec to ask of he'd get support.

If he's cracking under pressure now then surely not PM material.

We're having the same thing here in Oz the Labor leader Albonese is showing the pressure in the election run up. Keeps fluffing his lines, forgetting his 5 point plan, didn't know the official interest rate etc.

Looking at it, it looks like the Mail have pretty much proven that the takeaway was part of the days working itinerary not a party. Not sure what they think they can achieve by producing a document that shows Starmer was right.

He will have to resign but I stand to be corrected on this but I do not see it. Personally if I was Starmar I would throw down the gauntlet put the Fail and rabid right wing press back in their boxes and turn up the heat on Johnson, by saying if found guilty he will resign.

Isnt the issue Starmer and the PLP played the it was an impromptu meal and a drink decided upon last minute after working late into the night?

Again on my give a fuck meter this barely registers but that’s my recollection and if it’s right, it’s the lie that has caught up with them along with saying Raynor wasn’t there.

I might be wrong here mate but that’s my recollection of how it was originally reported.

Johnson is a gone, unfortunately for us and the country, not fast enough but he is gone.
 
The waft of desperation from the Fail

So hiding behind the paywall they think they have the smoking gun on all this a memo but just a couple of points
1. This was a memo not a party invitation which we are issued when people go to work meetings.
2. During the time that this event the issuing of memo's in the work place was not prohibited (but I am sure some people wished they were.
3. The video this still looks like a work meeting to most people i.e. no party music being played, people arriving with suitcases full of booze, or adults riding kids swings.
Maybe I am wrong but and the police have some further evidence of an after party later, and I stand to be corrected. But to me Starmer is a pretty straight laced (not surprising being an ex QC) and would not be as stupid of have the arrogant entitlement to think that he could get away with it. I still maintain that this is the Fail and playing the look they are all the same card.

It started immediately on BBC this morning with a bloke wearing his red tie proudly, stating that Starmer cannot be taken seriously, followed by a full on interview with Nandy, chasing her about the allegations, basically saying that he is guilty.

Usually there’d be talk of other things, not in this interview.

Will be interesting to see what the investigation brings.
 
Fucking hell Allegra Stratton has gone so Sophie Rayworth steps into the breech for her BBC Masters - interviewing Lisa Nandy right now - Nandy "we need to do something for people who are spending today with no food in the cupboard" - Rayworth ( for the umpteenth time ) - " should Starmer resign"

Lisa Nandy has made it clear she thinks Starmer will not get an FPN and the question is redundant but Rayworth ruins her opportunity to conduct an meaningful and fruitful interview by being the Govt propaganda wing - BBC News eh
 
Another day of full scouse mode on here I see.

It’s really not a good look.
