Keir Starmer

Well played Kier and Labour front bench on the motion tabled yesterday. Clealry skewerd the tory party.

It was a brilliant motion as well, fracking is probably the most divisive issue in the party. So many countryside tory MPs knew if they voted for it they'd be persona non grata in their constituency.

But it was Truss & co. making it a confidence vote that really made it a killer blow, there's no way Labour could have imagined they'd be that stupid.

It was a checkmate scenario.

Whip to oppose and win but generate massive internal strife and inflict serious damage to each MPs individual election campaign prospects.

Or leave as free vote - lose and LT loses authority, she had none to lose so had to go for option 1.

People know I'm not a fan of Starmer or the direction he wants to take the Labour party.

If the party implements most of his fair deal for workers policy I've just received from my MP it would be a start to lancing this huge self servative boil of fuckwittery currently running the country.

For the good of the country we need a change of government. I'll vote for him but will hold his feet to the fire whilst he's in power to make sure he's representing us and not pandering to Murdoch or the media chums he's currently courting over the members.

Very rarely post in the Political forum but, where is Starmer, nothing from him over the last few days, you'd certainly not call him dynamic.

Labour may well be miles ahead in the polls but he should be all over the news this week being the voice of the people even if it Tory conference time.
He hammered Truss in PMQs on Tuesday and has been given soundbites all day by the news channels.

Not a big fan of starmer myself. But he is the perfect politician for this period of chaos.

He hasn't really done the poisonous divisive politics of modern times. He's been pretty much free from controversy, a lot more honest.
Steady hand, even if it isn't as inspiring.

The media are laying off his skeleton's for now.
