Keir Starmer

Understandably the focus is on this abomination of a government ... and the host of MOTD .... so nobody is picking up on Keith's nasal dog whistling.

Labour don't object to the scapegoating ... just the 'efficiency'.

What [Enoch] Powell says today, the Tories say tomorrow and Labour legislates on the day after.’

Ambalavaner Sivanandan as right now as he was in the 60s.

Just 20 years ago. Similar language and some petty legislation to appease the baying mob .... of press barons.

Plus it wouldn't be New Labour without the cynical management of the news cycle.

Talk about never forget ... is that Alistair Campbell all over our screens moralising about the independence of the BBC?

Written by some left wing academic he forgets the name of apparently. Saw this earlier, more measured but equally savage.

I thought that might be a bit long for here, and possibly too controversial in that it implies starmer is a plant by either both or one of the US/ UK security services. I've no idea if this is the case, but if they did want to plant someone to ensure the interests of capitalism are propped up and socialism eradicated then it's hard to come up with a better choice within 'labour'.

More uselessness on display this morning from ‘his team’. Ashworth on tv falling over himself to criticise the bbc, Tory MP’s and the press, as to be expected. Then desperate to get in that he’s not defending ‘the tweet‘ in anny way and he ’definitely would not endorse the language used’.
With this shower of shit, seemingly almost exclusively made up of say nothings, do nothings, support nothings and fear everything’s, it’s certainly not all over yet for the most corrupt government we’ve ever seen, somehow.
And, make no mistake, if they somehow get elected again in 2025, you ain’t seen nothing yet, as BTO once said.

Starmer has obviously, and probably quite rightly, decided that getting elected and changing a liitle is better than not getting elected and changing nothing. The old reliable working class vote has declined and Labour must appeal to the middle classes to get into power. My preference would be a working class Labour Party with support from like minded middle class voters. What we actually have is that the Liberal Party has taken over the Labour Party by stealth and now it's mostly aimed at the middle classes whilst hoping the working class remain on board. Bottom line is the working class no longer have a natural political party to support and we are back to the whigs and tories days but Starmer is our best option.

Love Alexi, he got his views from his mum apparently who was a Communist.

Crispin Flintoff however I think is a fucking prick, a self described leftist comedian, he comes across to me as a middle class liberal halfwit who describes himself as a pacifist Quaker ffs. Prick

The Labour party has to stop indulging the liberal fantasists who believe occupying the mythical middle ground will make the world a better place. It will not, it has not and never will, in my opinion we need a Labour party willing to challenge capitalist orthodoxy, a party focused on the working class, not the middle class who historically have always embraced Fascism over Socialism.

What a fucking awful place UK politics is in, we have possibly the most right wing government in UK history cheered on by virtually all the media to be even more right wing, even pseudo fascist and the Labour party is fucking useless because it has a front bench that could be Tories too.

The right wing of the Labour party are too blame for every fucking thing the Tories get away, because they support Capitalist ideology. Then throw in the likes of Akehurst and Stanger, the horrible bastards and we have a party that is so hollowed out of ideas, so fucking bowing down to the cunts in the media, it makes me ashamed I was once a member,

That idiotic warmongering **** Blair said "we are all middle class now"

What a stupid fucking comment from a massive prick.

I’m not left or right. I vote for the best option for the country. I’ve been on this planet 53 years and the best time to be alive for pretty much everyone was the labour government of 1997-2010. Business prospered. NHS waiting lists went down. Standards of living improved. Arts and culture prospered. Education improved. It wasn’t perfect but in general, particularly compared to the last 12 years, it was a good time for the UK and most people prospered.

I’ve seen a hard left government in the 70s and a hard right government in the last few years. Both were fucking shit. I know that you won’t because you’re entrenched but you should understand that Labour’s recent flirt with the left of the party delivered us Boris Johnson and the chaos we are in now. They won’t get elected but even if they did their policies won’t deliver prosperity.

You have to look after business and the economy as well as the underprivileged and needy.

This, this, this, this and then more THIS!

People who look at the failures of 44 years of neo-liberalism, in particular the last 15 once it unraveled, and argue for something different - entrenched in their 'hard left' views.

People who argue, correctly, that the 2008 crash was a global phenomenon continue to attribute the good times that preceded it entirely down to the Labour government and nothing to do with the same global forces - very wise and not at all entrenched.

Ashworth wasn't the only one. Classic triangulation, sit on the fence and see which way the wind was blowing. Problem was that the Lineker story moved too quick for the focus groups and they end up looking like idiots.

Left 'n right are desperate to get elected. In order to achieve that aim they drown us in 'nothingness' - just a constant criticism of each other, whilst the people at the shitty end of public services soldier on and attempt to deliver what Govt should be ensuring is delivered. The last thing that either party is concerned with is 'good government. Once elected the inter-fighting and intra-party sniping starts - right or left. And the performances at the Westminster Palladium continue.

I am quite cynical. I take the view that we are stuck with the system and the job of a party that purports to represent ordinary people is to get the possible deal for them from that system.

The traditional working-class - hordes of railwaymen, miners and steelworkers - no longer exists. We may regret it, or not, but it is so. Many of those who call themselves working class are (sadly) politically illiterate and often support various types of fascism out of fear that they are losing their place in the world due to (for example) immigration or social change in general. A factor in this is that change is more rapid than it has ever been, and if you have no hedge against it the world is a scary place. Ludicrous conspiracy theories about the w.e.f, digital currencies and men from Mars do not help.

In reality, anyone who does not live off capital is a worker. It doesn't matter what they do, how educated they are, or whether they wear a suit or overalls, if their pay cheque is all that keeps them from being fucked they are workers. But there is no real class solidarity whatever. So the Tories divide and rule, not least by throwing dead cats down, giving you something new to be scared about. Fear helps their cause. It makes people defensive and resentful.

The Labour Party does not inspire me in the least. But given the appalling choice, I prefer them to the Tories who are, I believe, actually dangerous. The Tories urgently need to purge the ERG/UKIP extremists and become a serious party again.

You think Harold Wilson and James Callaghan were hard left?

I will disagree who delivered Johnson, maybe if so many Labour MPs didn't stab the leader in the back whilst Labour staffers worked against the party and the likes of Hodge, Berger and Gapes made spurious unproven claims Labour would have won. It was only a couple of thousand votes short.

Trouble with Corbinism is that it just might have worked, and that would never have done….
