Keir Starmer

Aye, also, it’s not hard to see the political advantages to Starmer. It removes the Tory attack line of ‘Labour is still the party of Corbyn!’ - ‘they won’t let Corbyn stand’ - ‘fuck!’

It‘s politics 101. Don’t give your opponents ammunition.

If only they’d thought about this “gotcha” before that 20 point lead you like to mention was amassed eh?

It rarely gets a mention, so I feel duty bound to keep bringing it up.

I think of this as you guys discussing a match during half-time, and bemoaning the teams performance while never mentioning that the team in question is 5-0 up.

Against 9 men.

I think in terms of giving your opponents ammunition this has backfired. Starmer is now having to field constant questions about this, whereas if he just let Corbyn potter along as a constituency (labour) MP he'd have been harmless. He got the clean bill of health from the Jewish lobby a few weeks ago so didn't need to make a big gesture which is all this is.

Conversely, Starmer talking about his ’strong and principled‘ stand on Corbyn is happily avoiding any detailed and tricky questions about the economy, the NHS, strikes, the EU etc and what detailed plans Labour has to fix the problems that bedevil us, beyond vague assurances that Labour, will indeed, fix them - ‘…like I did with Corbyn’ (copyright K. Starmer).

Also, I don’t think the country outside of Islington North gives a flying fuck about Corbyn.

Exactly, no one cares about Corbyn who to be fair has kept a low profile and not been a thorn in starmers side as he could very well have done.
I'm glad you realise that Starmer "talking about his ’strong and principled‘ stand on Corbyn is happily avoiding any detailed and tricky questions about the economy, the NHS, strikes, the EU etc and what detailed plans Labour has to fix the problems that bedevil us, beyond vague assurances that Labour, will indeed, fix them" is a massive blag because he is essentially planning to continue in the Cameron/ Osbourne vain until he politely hands power back to the Tories five years later.

Corbyn is a dinosaur and a scruffy twat .
The dinosaur narrative is a product of the RW media's obsession with looks, check out how they treat women.

Personally I would rather have a brilliant PM who was/is a scruffy twat than a saville row suited and booted imbecile.
He had some very good policies
I vote on policy, that is perfectly normal.
but too many far left cronie mates in high places like scouse Len McClusky . Not much going for him to be fair ……..
He should retire along with his lunatic sidekick Dianne Abbot ,what a pair !
It is crony btw, and yes Diane has great tits as well as being a superb parliamentarian.
Labour under Starmer meanwhile polling around 50 % a staggering 25% ahead of the tories.
Tories facing obliteration at last !
But you hate Labour!

Murdoch and Dacre just love having Corbyn around , they destroyed him and the Labour vote at the last general election . Let Corbyn have his Islington North empire and let Murdoch and Dacre try and defend the shambolic corrupt useless tories . They are doing a very poor job of it and the Sun and Mail in massive financial trouble. The tide has turned at long long last and long may it continue !

Well, of course he is. Blair did the same in the run up to ‘97. Never over promise, keep it simple and don’t frighten the horses. It’s not as if we haven’t seen this play before.

I think we are actually on the same page for once and I agree with you. Having said that, and for a moment ignoring the fact that anything is better than the current govt, do you not find it all a bit depressing and cynical?

True though . Here lies Corbyn,s problem with the “electorate” , he is a poor man’s Michael Foot and he put the Labour Party back a decade .
Do you have any idea of how much of Foot's 83 manifesto was actually enacted?

Do you also recall the "donkey jacket"?

The common theme that runs between Foot and Corbyn is that the Labour right enabled years of disastrous Tory government rather than embrace Socialism.

Unfortunately as socialism comes with less defence spending, scrapping the nuclear deterrent and is obviously a clear threat to capital then the forces of the right and the state will always act against it.

Corbyn got destroyed by a posh self entitled charlatan scruffy twat , some feat that !
Ps you haven’t read my post properly, I want a Labour government and I want the tories out of power for a very very long time . Labour is now in its best position to win an election for what seems a lifetime.

Always had that suspicion. Didn't prepare me for people pissing their pants over a pensioner who makes his own jam.
