Keir Starmer

I do wonder how people have been looked after over the years, ie. did Rasc feel better served personally under Thatcher or Blair, Blair or Cameron, Cameron or May, etc?
Since Thatcher all we have had is neo-liberalism from whoever is in power. So none have served my views any better than any other.

Twitter full of socialists losing their minds over Rachel Riley's MBE.

Every single one of them talks the vague conspiratorial nonsense and makes hilariously overblown claims. It has become an alternate reality, exactly like RW'ers in the US. In particular, it's about this person, that person. She did down Corbyn. She did down Loach. Socialism, the Labour party messed with the politics of personality, using Social Media to rehash the same old tricks. Putting up idols, exactly as Toryism messed with Boris and the personalities surrounding Brexit. I mean.... the posts are always about restoring male figures. Always. The bias comes pouring out, despite ideology. That's the truth about such regressive and idiotic political trends. They seek to preserve the state of ignorance of what we humans are, in order to harness it.

You aren't the idealist you think you are. Your neighbour isn't. You can't be, they can't be. That's not how we are. It's how we might like to dress it up, but the only reason the illusion lasts is our incredible ability for hypocrisy and hiding the truth from ourselves and each other. Whatever your noble motive, it won't survive the real world. It never, ever does.

Put it another way, the most popular tweet, calls it the day common sense died.

You can't get a more textbook example of reactionary rhetoric.

The impression is that socialists in this country require a head check, and the movement needs a rethink.

It isn't convincing.

Did you think your views will ever be served, or have been in the past?
As you used "did" rather than "do" , i will say yes i did hope that Blair would be brilliant but what a let down, I did see my hopes being realised under Corbyn, but sadly he was undermined. As for "do" the hope has gone, as for "did" they were served before I was born by Atlee et al and i was raised in a decent social democracy rather than the neo liberal hell hole we now inhabit.

It's only an MBE, they give them out like sweets.

Oh No! not the Socialist twitterati

I would in practice be against Riley getting an MBE because I think the whole honours system is a complete load of bollox that just serves to reinforce the deferential society we live in. Riley is great though on Cats do Countdown, worthy of a gong get to fuck, my mam was more worthy

As for the rest of your wildly incoherent rant, i suggest you go and lie down pal.

Go and lie down, twitter is not real life, it is a platform for reactionary bullshit.
