Keir Starmer

On this issue.

The laughing out loud is at the sudden silence from his fans who have spent the last few years deriding the sort of policy their man is now coming out with but that’s to be expected.

Well done Starmer, a common sense approach to what is a very real issue and you simply can not allow people to cross illegally in boats, it’s not compassionate, it’s not humane and it has got to stop and anyone saying differently isn’t serious ;-)
Indeed. It makes far more sense to recreate the agreement we had within the Dublin agreement.

Until we do that, the boats won’t be stopped, whatever policy is put forwards, but his “common sense approach” seems to be a bit of red meat thrown out to to the populists who vote on whims. :-)

Who would have thought it?

Starmer nothing more than a red faced racist gammon?

Piss funny this forum and I bet a few of the more vocal on the boats will be radio silent from now on :-)

You reckon? The rhetoric will stay the same until the election.

Starmer isn’t a red faced gammon. He’s getting red faced gammon to vote for him.

They're easily led.

Well he will have lost a lot of votes on here after his policy statement this morning won’t he?

What’s that? No? Ahem……. “We need to stop the boats” I hear them all cry pmsl

Everybody wants the boats stopping. Some feel we should take our fair share of asylum seekers and others think we should take none.

The Tories have destroyed the system and set fire to it, whilst forcing people across the channel on boats because they can’t apply for asylum any other way.

If Starmer “ramps up” border force etc, do you know what will happen? Nothing. The boats will continue to come here.

Until we have grown ups in charge that fix a deal with France/EU, the boats will keep coming.

I think it took less than a minute after the Tory briefing notes appeared on BBC slamming it.
It was Rigby who tried to spread disinformation, only to be put down by Starmer in her own interview with him. She was forlorn, and for anybody watching politics, made herself look an absolute tit.

What we are seeing, with cloak and mirror, is certain outlets looking to be impartial, but trying to pull the wool. Only a week ago they they tried to play down the losses at the local elections, turning to Tory propaganda to state that Labour had issues. A complete fabrication of what everybody seen.

BBC, our supposed flagship broadcaster, went with the same, so we know that both are being directed from a single entity. Now, that is worrying.

The right, or the dejected, are out in force tonight. As a current Labour supporter I’ll stay away from the politics thread as we need to be together for the game tomorrow.

Come on City!

They will be going ahead with Austerity next much to the derision of bluemoon poste.........

Oh yeah they did that.

There is no magic money tree, strong and stable, its all about the economy stupid.

Who knew knowing getting in power would turn so many caring socialists into Tories. Sad to see tbh.

Yeah, caring about asylum seekers certainly makes us Tories.

Growth can be created by borrowing money too.

There’s nothing left to cut, so change is needed else we delve further into the abyss.
