Keisuke Honda

He is a a genuinely good player, I was just adding in that financially he'd be almost unnoticeable, as shirt sales would pay some of his wage.

Have you ever seen him play?

That's the problem with some posters here , If a player doesn't cost 30Million then they just assume he's a crappy player and he's not worth it .
At 26 he would add some dynamism to the Midfield (Faster than Barry , 3x the player Garcia is )
His stats for the season:

22 appearances
9goals .

Plus he's more popular in Asia than Kagawa . I made a post here some weeks back saying we should go for this guy only for some posters to make negative remarks , Luckily an Aussie poster who has watched Honda for a very long time supported the post .
Overall Honda is a far better player than Kagawa , He plays as a deep lying playmaker and can also play as an attacking midfielder , He has more strength than Kagawa . The only thing Kagawa has going for him is the media hype and we all know the "power" behind this.

I like him. Not a whole lot but he's a good player. Not sure where he'd fit in though, I wouldn't ever be comfortable with him alongside Yaya in defensive midfield.

He'd be a squad player no doubt. But he'd could have huge affect of the bench.
I suppose if worse comes to worst he could be signed instead of Bale.
He's nowhere near the player, but you know Mancini....

If a player like Garcia can fit in then i think Honda wouldn't have any problems finding a place in the team . He can either play besides Barry with Yaya upfront or he can take Barry's place , at 32 Barry is not getting any younger and i would prefer a player like Benat to take over but Honda would also be a good replacement there,Honda could be used for the high tempo / fast games while Barry could return for slower / more tactical games.

I would have him here. He's quite a flexible player, and can play on the left and right, and do a job as a deep lying playmaker. In the World Cup, he played as a false number 9, Japan didn't play a striker. With Silva playing so many games for both club and country, we need to take the burden off him. The guy hardly gets a rest.

Having watched him against Australia, he is superior to Kagawa in almost every respect. A classy player no doubt and can knock in the goals as well. As one of the posters said we need to take the pressure off Silva, given that Nasri is failing to produce the goods.

That was the first time I watched him too.
Since then I've watched him in a couple of games for Moscow and been very impressed.

Signing a player who will sell shirts isn't a negative point, it's a positive point. Obviously they need to have some talent, but at the end of the day the club needs every source of revenue it can get. If we make serious inroads into the Asian market it will help the club grow. It seems that a lot of the untapped money in football is over there now and I think it would be foolish not to exploit it.

I hear Honda is a good player, so I personally think getting him on a free would be a good move.
