Ken Bruce to leave Radio 2

In my previous job, we always had Radio 2 on and I genuinely used to enjoy listening to Terry Wogan, followed by Ken Bruce - and we all used to stop work for Popmaster!!
Those two presenters were pretty inoffensive and did play tunes (on the whole) which were easy to listen to.
It's a shame Ken Bruce is leaving, it does feel like the end of an era.
For the record,Zoe Ball and that bellend Richie Anderson, the travel bloke,are annoying beyond belief and get right on my tits, Jeremy Vine gets on my tits, I'm glad Steve Wright has gone, Scott Mills gets on my tits, I can tolerate Sarah Cox, Jo Whiley is decent and plays some good tunes.
Lisa Tarbuck isn't my cup of tea, Trevor Nelson (when I hear him) is okay, I don't mind Dermot, I don't mind Michael Ball on a Sunday - again pretty inoffensive.
Sounds of the 80's with Gary Davies is decent and I could handle him getting the Ken Bruce gig.
Finally, while I have to admit he has carved a very good career for himself (I have no idea how) that annoying twat Rylan is dreadful - seriously dreadful.
Surely they wouldn't consider him for the show..........or would they??

No I definitely was not. I have made a lot of friends through my association with R2 Wogan and Ken Bruce. I did get emotional when he made his announcement and I am devastated that he is leaving. Although it is slighly made 'easier' now I know where he is going and that he has the rights to PopMaster.Go on. Admit it. You were taking the piss :-)
Why would I take the Michael about a superb broadcaster?

With you all the way @normskih I feel slightly better now I know that Ken is going to Greatest Hits and taking PopMaster with him. :-)I get you but there’s only Ken Bruce worth listening to on R2 now so one of the channels I’ve retuned to is Greatest Hits radio. The music is more to my liking these days as R2 music isn’t my ideal choice anymore with these newer presenters.

Oh they would, they really would. Rylan is dreadful and I agree with most of what you say about the presenters. For years R2 and R4 were the only programmes for me. R2 was my alarm at 7.00 and I had many a laugh and banter with Wogan and Pauly. Plus I became a TOG and Wogan sent me a sweatshirt a Wogan slogan. Also a few of us were invited to a private visit he made to Waterstones in Manchester and what a laugh we had.
For Christmas I bought myself a new radio so I could get Smooth and others. Now I just have to find Greatest Hits. That's tomorrow's sit down job!! :-)

Think I’m one of the few people who actually doesn’t mind Rylan, not saying he’s some great presenter/DJ or whatever term you choose to use, I just find him difficult to dislike and think he’s very good at ‘just chatting away’ to people and making them feel welcome.
I say all that, as having read and listened to various interviews over the years with him, I’ve often found there’s something very ‘Keeganesque’ about him, he wears his heart on his sleeve so to speak, very open and honest, and he’s without doubt a a quite damaged and emotional person, I think he genuinely gets affected by people who are nasty about/to him, especially if it’s just because he’s ‘Rylan’.
Personally, if he gets the gig, I wish him well.

Fair play,i agree.
The lad is clearly very insecure,and despite his achievements...... lacks confidence.I wish him all the best too.
