Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that, and Scholes & Gerrard were fantastic players in their own right, but I’m with you. De Bruyne at his peak was just on another level to anything we’ve seen in the PL. An insane talent who will be incredibly difficult to replace. It was a privilege to watch him.
I always put lampard ahead of Gerrard because I felt he was more of a team player. The thing with Kev is he could do the gerrard Roy of the rovers stuff whilst also being the ultimate team player. Whilst also having vision light years beyond anyone else. Silva was a different player, and Scholes possibly a closer comparison, but he was also peerless. What a privilege.

Hopefully club can arrange a testimonial game where we can see these legends play together again one more time

Think of the price viagogo would charge tho? -:)

The emotions seeing them pull on the shirt again would be something special.

Gutted but all incredible things come to an end. We are so privileged to have watched this talent for 10 years. How about naming the new 3 tier.THE KDB END.

You can’t say Gerrard wasn’t a team player. He was the ultimate English Roy of the Rovers type player.

He was immense at 90% of football.

He lacked positional sense. He had to be where the ball was. The best teams in transition could then exploit where he should have been.

Apart from that, he could do everything.

Just not as well as KDB and Lampard when it came to scoring and creating goals.

KDB was the finest player I have seen but in the last couple of seasons his game was significantly marred by injury.

A lot of us said the club needs to be ruthless in the summer in regards of changing the squad. Looks like they’re acting on it

i think it was financial as much as anything, he would have had to take a significant paycut on an extension as there was no way we could justify having one of our top earners only playing 50% of games available

That's very sweet of you but I probably couldn't make it every two weeks. You know what, I have seen all the greats play, going back to Trautman. I never thought I would see the success that we have had over the past years. It has been a wonderful experience to see all the joy our fabulous players in blue shirts have brought. The proudest I have ever been watching City, was the demolition of Real Madrid. We were perfection that night. Just WOW!
Yep. Our greatest ever performance. But for some miracle goalkeeping, we would have been 5-0 up at half time. Haaland just couldn’t believe it. Ancelloti sat there with a look on his face that said: “Nothing we can do here.”

The comment isn’t intended to denigrate Scholes and Gerrard, who as you say were phenomenal players.

But KDB was way better!

I intend to enjoy watching him for the next two months, and hope he finishes with a trophy. It would be fitting.
