There were no contentious decisions to be made, no fouls in the area, no dodgy tackles, nothing. The fact City completely and utterly dominated the game, both in terms of goals scored, chances created and possession held meant it must have been a very easy game to referee.

He did well in a game played in the right spirit. Presumably he got the gig at the last minute as Sky were worried that the title race might be over too early and they wanted to even things up a bit.

Kevin Friend's just as bad, if not worse.

For once we had a ref who seem to understand the laws of the game as they are written. Nothing controversial which helps, and also WBA didn't have anybody who had been trained at the Charlie Adam School of Tackling!

My one and only gripe is that Andrews should have been booked for the challenge on Samir.
If that's my only complaint, it's fair to say he's had a decent game
