Khaldoon al Mubarak - the new Peter Swales?

Prestwich Blue you make some interesting posts on here and i find them interesting but this statement is ludicrous..........

Are you happy with our owners, are you not happy with the 100's of millions they have injected, this is their first appointment, do you want them as owners.........enlighten us.........
I was delighted when our owners took us over as we wouldn't have lasted much longer under Thaksin.

They painted themsleves as serious people who were prepared to spend money and were in it for the long term. Then they made a complete hash of sacking a manager who was starting to get it right and produce extremely entertaining (but sometimes infuriating) football and replace him with a non-English speaking, mafia-associated manager who has never managed in the Premiership and, despite his record in the (corrupt) Italian league, has achieved no success in Europe (whereas Ferguson & Benitez had).

this has really got to you hasn't it. I understand why you liked Hughes so much, and the decision is questionable, but next you'll be posting 'forward with franny'.

khaldoun won't live and die by this decision, if it goes wrong he'll find someone else. if it still isn't working, THEN, he will look very stupid. and that was swales' problem, not that he was got it wrong, but that he got it wrong too often, for the wrong reasons.

Would your opinion differ if Swales had got it wrong too often but for the right reasons?

yes, err, sort of. if you get it wrong for the right reasons, chances are you'll get it right sooner or later. no, actually, that's not really true..

what I mean with swales it was often hard to decipher ANY reason for the change, or for him to choose a certain manager. I think there are reasons why this has been made, and why Mancini has got the nod. Maybe they are not the right reasons. It is a change in approach. Khaldoun has listened to marwood, who appears to have argued that it's not just about competance, hughes is struggling with certain players, that a big character, a big name is neccesary to make players like robbie and ade listen, that it will enhance our chances of buying players far better than we have now. If it doesn't work, then I think they'll go for another big character, but one who has worked in the prem (mourinho). If that doesn't work, we're back at square one... and then marwood would be finished. khaldoun would have to show he'd learned a lot from these mistakes to get the next approach right. there is value in having these levels of management. would a football man be better placed than khaldoun to decide who to listen to, or would they just have too many pre-concieved ideas about the game to make an objective decision for the benefit of the club?

by comparison swales was just a law unto himself, pinning tails on donkeys and doing the deals that suited him.

good grief I'm unintelligible. sorry. hope I made some sense.

Have you spoken to mancini and asked him?

No. I don't speak italian - no real surprise there...

and he doesn't speak English. - Not done your homework, have you?

Mancini knows plenty about premiership football...

Do they publish Shoot magazine in Italy then?

Hmmm. A tad xenophobic, that comment above.

AGAIN, Mancini speaks good English.

Which Khaldoon is not.
So what would you call a chairman who sacks a manager whose record this month is W3 D1 L1 and has taken his team to a cup semi-final?
So you think because he has had a nice month he should of stayed despite underachieving for the other 17

Do you seriously think he won't have been asked if he wanted said assistant during negotiations?
Yes. He'll have been told. Because he's not here for long and they don't want to be paying compo to all his mafia chums as well.

When I read the original post I thought I'd just reply PRICK but I considered for a few seconds and felt sorry for you so didn't But I read the thread and your follow-up posts so here goes........
