Khaldoon al Mubarak - the new Peter Swales?

Our owners are businessmen
In business boss's are set targets. If they do not achieve those targets then they get get the bullet.
The club statement states that he was sacked because he did not achieve "agreed" targets.
The targets were obviously agreed by MH, so having not hit these targets he much have known this was coming.
The club backed MH to the tune of over £200m to enable him to achieve those targets, so he can't really complain that he wasnt backed
I suspect the target was to be top four at Xmas, which is impossible now, albeit we are not far away.
What people need to realise that this is no longer a game of hanshakes and honour, it's business.
Manicin will have targets, and if he doesnt achieve those targets he will also get the bullet.

i never knew that peter swales had provided more transfer money than the rest of the league combined in a period of 12 months, only for the team to improve slightly and still be riddled with obvious weaknesses that the manager had not only agreed to eradicate but also claimed publicly that his team could compete at the very top.

The only worrying thing for me here is that al-Mubarak says 'agreed targets had not been met' but how many times has hughes been let off the hook before? or is this the first time he's fallen short? i suspect not, don't think finishing 9th was ever part of the plan.

Peter swales wanted to be on the telly more than the manager how dare you compare our chairman to that weasel.

i think it's more to do with garry cook, and not the owners, as much i agree with hughes going, i feel garry cook is enjoying the power!, perhaps he should be next?, get a man in who understands football a bit, he came from nike with no experience with football.

Skyman Phil Thompson says we are in ruination, he said Hughes should be grateful not to be employed by a club that did that to him. Thompson says that goes for him too!

Did he mention what state his beloved liverpool are in?

Another failed ex player spouting bollox.

Prestwich blue is obviously being facetious about the Swales comment. The point that you're all missing is that this knee-jerk reaction is totally consistent with the maniac decisions that Swales made, with Book and Machin among others. It's a disgrace.

And if Khaldoon is reading this thread, I hope he knows what a disgrace ADUG's conduct has been. It is not befitting of what we expect from the board of directors, and has damaged the reputation of this club ireppairably.

Just as disgusting is THE MENTALITY OF PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM WHO HAD IT IN FOR HUGHES FROM DAY ONE. You're not Manchester City fans in my opinion.

No-Khaldoon has never to my knowledge run a record shop in Altrincham or been involved with that towns non league football club.

Or had a partner who sold televisions.Or wore Cuban heels.

I sense a Billy Shears type thread..without the irony.

What about the people who supported Hughes all last season but slowly realised he wasn't up to it after witnessing games first hand week in week out? Can we be called 'Manchester City fans' oh great one?
