If he's as good as people are making out and could seriously improve either united, Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal, then that's the best reason for us to go for him. Snap him up for 40m and make them pay more for whoever their next choice is, that'll limit how much they can spend on the rest of their squad.

The problem with that is his price. Right now, it's a 40m release clause. Next season, it will be 80. I am surprised this thread is not getting more attention since he is a bargain. We have all seen examples of players being available for much less, but after 1 season, their market value exploded. We need to buy them before it does, and it's not a big risk at 40m.
