Koeman to Everton

in hindsight definitely,but more about the whole way moyes tried to prolong what was inevitable. the player wanted to leave so all that remained was at what price. footballers have no loyalty and are an asset, we did well out of a player we paid £5 million for.

My reply was partly an attempt to be provocative and if I offended you, I'm sorry; you're one of the best non-City posters on Bluemoon.

Jolson turned out to be a fantastic buy for us. His partnership with VK was one of the best this country has seen and as often as not, our defensive solidity was more due to JL than it was Vinnie.

Yes, we may have overpaid for him, but his contribution to our 2011 FA Cup victory and our Premium League win the following season cannot be overstated.

Needs to buy the vast majority of the shares before he pours £Ms in, otherwise he's just increasing the value of others' investments

FFP says "No".

Not exactly true that. UEFA's FFP rules have been amended so new investors/owners of clubs can spend heavily initially providing they can present a convincing enough argument that they'll be breaking even in the not too distant future. Also, the Premier League's own FFP rules allow for cumulative losses of up to £105 million over 3 years so with the increased TV money from next season Moshiri could add a significant enough sum to that (if he's prepared to that is) for Evertn to go out and spend well in excess of £100 million this summer. They probably couldn't repeat that 12 months later as that could well cause a problem further down the line with FFP but they might not need to if they can hang on to their best players as well.

i wasn't offended in the slightest mate, the sale of lescott was inevitable. he wanted to better himself and play at a different level.

All together now;
"I'd walk a million miles,
For one of your smiles,
My mammy!

The general opinion, from Everton ITKs who always get it right, is that if we wanted to go and buy Messi, we could.

Not that there's a chance he would come of course, but that's the kind of money we have available for transfers.

We're not going to be spunking money on dross like Jo, but we'll be spending.

by today's standards moshiri is not wealthy and i would imagine any transfers would be dependent on player sales, he would invest more in a stadium development as this is how he would get a less risky return. the tv money will probably be a greater input than moshhiri's cash. most club's spending will be based on the tv money i would imagine. if we had a £100 million budget which i very much doubt, player prices will be forced up as the selling club will hold the aces.

Here we go @efcblue. When we got taken over, we were in a world with no FFP, where a top player cost 25-30m and about 120k a week in wages (6m a season). We still had to overpay to convince players to turn down the opposition and take a risk with us. Btw, we finished higher the season pre-takeover than your lot did last season and the squad weren't that bad (for a fucking change). The rags were the richest club in the world with about £300m a year in turnover and about £900m in debt. That's what we had to compete with. Nobody else in the PL came close to them financially although Roman was still splashing the cash at Chelsea. So we had a owner worth 60 times their turnover and no restrictions, in a relatively (financially) poor league. You have an owner worth 3 times our turnover(and we have no debt), finished bottom half last season, a top player costs £50m+ for a PL club and will want £300k a week plus to join Everton (£15m a season) and somewhere in all this you have to replace your stadium. You're not going to do a 'City' with that lad, he makes the boy who owns Spurs look loaded in comparison and even if he puts in £100m this season and £50m every season after until he's bankrupt with the (even new and adapted) PL FFP there's 6/7 clubs in the league that can outspend you in fees and wages. It'll be good management at all levels that'll improve you not spending power. If we wanted to now under the current regulations we could outspend your lot by around 150m in fees and around 130m per annum in wages this summer.

So best of luck with the takeover and I hope Koeman does a great job and you climb up the table, but don't expect too much in terms of spending power.
