Koeman to Everton

Oh boy, it'd be rude if I didn't reply to all of you so here we go :)

Here we go @efcblue. When we got taken over, we were in a world with no FFP, where a top player cost 25-30m and about 120k a week in wages (6m a season). We still had to overpay to convince players to turn down the opposition and take a risk with us. Btw, we finished higher the season pre-takeover than your lot did last season and the squad weren't that bad (for a fucking change). The rags were the richest club in the world with about £300m a year in turnover and about £900m in debt. That's what we had to compete with. Nobody else in the PL came close to them financially although Roman was still splashing the cash at Chelsea. So we had a owner worth 60 times their turnover and no restrictions, in a relatively (financially) poor league. You have an owner worth 3 times our turnover(and we have no debt), finished bottom half last season, a top player costs £50m+ for a PL club and will want £300k a week plus to join Everton (£15m a season) and somewhere in all this you have to replace your stadium. You're not going to do a 'City' with that lad, he makes the boy who owns Spurs look loaded in comparison and even if he puts in £100m this season and £50m every season after until he's bankrupt with the (even new and adapted) PL FFP there's 6/7 clubs in the league that can outspend you in fees and wages. It'll be good management at all levels that'll improve you not spending power. If we wanted to now under the current regulations we could outspend your lot by around 150m in fees and around 130m per annum in wages this summer.

So best of luck with the takeover and I hope Koeman does a great job and you climb up the table, but don't expect too much in terms of spending power.

Thanks mate. I don't expect us to go and do things like splashing £20m on players like Jo, but we'll be investing significantly and as much as possible, even pushing through the threshold with some jiigery pokery. Everyone seriously underestimates just how far this is going to go. Plus, with very well connected people saying that Usmanov is definitely joining Moshiri at Everton, this is going to go a whole lot further.

your gonna step up a level and fair play ,but when it comes to signings there is a pecking order, barca madrid ,b munich, city utd chealsea, psg arsenal, anyway good luck and you also need to get a move on see city for details

Thanks mate. Just as you had to establish yourselves there, so did we. The no-messing attitude towards getting Koeman, paying what he demanded, has not gone unnoticed. Today in the papers, you'll have seen reports that Moshiri is ready to smash wage budgets in order for us to get top quality talent.

You campaign in poetry, you govern in prose.

Ok...?

There is deluded, f*cking deluded and plain straight off the map absurd - your signings will soon reveal the " bottomless pit " of transfer funds which are available.

Good luck with your world class signings, but I think you have bagged yourselves a good manager, unlike the daft tw*t you had last time !

That's not very nice mate. I act nothing short of respectful here as I'd expect anyone in a reverse situation to do and to think that someone has the audacity to make such a statement about my understanding of my own club is just outrageous.

As I've said earlier in this post, most people are really underestimating what's going to happen.

I think our owner has 2 or 3 times the money Evertons new owner has (my dads bigger than yours, I know). It's just Saints are trying to get to the top by being a self sufficient club.
Not saying one way or the other is the right way just that's the way I see Saints trying to do it!

He is definitely richer than Moshiri. The difference is Moshiri is here with apparently ruthless intent whereas your owner, as you've put, is more restrained. Good luck for next season.

FFP says "No".

Moshiri says 'I don't care!"

what's the point in the last comment? you've spunked money on Bilyaletdinov, Niasse etc, and bought plenty of tosh because you didn't have the money. You'll make poor signings with lots of money as well, it's natural, especially if you go down the rapid growth route. The fact is you lot gave us shit for spending our money, now you've got yours to spend you'll rightly be reminded of your hypocrisy and green eyed nastiness.

I would say good luck and that we welcome the competition, but you didn't wish us the same back then so there's nothing to return.

Just an example that you can relate to, lad. It points out that we're not going to spend silly money on silly signings, but we'll be able to pay for a player when it matters. Don't take it to heart. Thanks, and I don't quite understand what you mean about me not wishing you luck? I've never been disrespectful of City.

Usmanov has plenty of money. However, he took more out of Arsenal than he put in. As you'd put it, he's not there to 'play'. You should be worried if he's getting involved.

As for the Jo comment, you're not going to be signing any top strikers. They'll have plenty of suitors that can match or better your wages and you won't be as attractive as most. We struck gold with Tevez, Yaya and Silva. You'd have to hit Oil to do the same now.

All joking apart, there's fuck all wrong with a frustrated Everton fan getting a little bit giddy. He's going through exactly the same emotions as many of us did in the autumn of 2008. Nowt wrong with that.
I know and I hope Koeman does a great job and puts them in a position where they can use their new liquidity. Just trying to let him down gently, especially if Arsenal Ali is getting involved.

There was a bit of bad blood between the supporters around the time of the takeover and for the following years, but historically we've always got on pretty well with their fans, relatively speaking.

Although it was certainly a bit tasty at Goodison Park in the 80's, that was more of the general style of reception that all visiting fans got around that time, not just City's.

Wasn't going to matches back then mate, only born in 85. Never had much love for Everton tbh but prefer them to your typical top 6 (minus our lovely selves of course). Then again, the only clubs I give 2 fucks about in the prem apart from City are the Hammers and Sunderland.

silly money on silly signings, so you are being disrespectful. You've made silly signings in the past and will do again. Also, lad? So not only disrespectful to City, but disrespectful to me as well. Really hitting the mark tonight.

Nah, just been to SOL a few times and their fans were class, plus the LC final and they seem to be where we were under Pearce/Ball permanently (and aren't arrogant like Villa) so they have my sympathies.

West Ham - best mate was a Hammer and lost him to SADS in Feb 14 (2 weeks after we went to the LC semi final second leg together) so big place in my heart for that shower :)

The rest of them can all fuck off and die tbh, although there's an order of precedence of course.
