Koeman to Everton

The main thing about having wealthy owners is you can mainly keep your best players, that in itself will get a team pushing for top 4.

Bit like you lot then lad?

Moshiri seems here to play and if rumours are to be believed and his best mate Usmanov is coming with him, we'll have the second richest owners in the league, behind you guys.

No, we're in the other 5% with Chelsea. 2 PL titles, 2 League Cups, 1 FA Cup - not bad. The Premier League is full of extremely rich, foreign owners who promise the world and deliver very little. The signing of Koeman tells you all you need to know about the true ambitions of the club. If you sell Stones and Lukaku you will need 7/8 players to get close to challenging for CL. If the rumours are true of £100m plus sales then I have news for you - that's a drop in the ocean these days.

Kenwright well and truly screwed you over when he played hard ball with our owners pre-2008. You could have been us, and perhaps our fans would have slagged you off the way you have done to us for 'buying' trophies. Diddums. Let's see how the media takes to the people's club trying to buy things.

some form of partnership/ agreement with the Peel company who are regenerating the dock area of liverpool 2. they currently own half of the NW so they would call all the shots. having been turned down for a few green belt suggestions, the docks seems our best option, crazy that we never saw the Kings Dock project through. probably end up renaming Goodison the San Giro at this rate !

A new dockside stadium would be amazing. If you spent enough money on it and got the design right, you could end up with a truly iconic stadium.

Can see Barkley staying

The way Barkley's development has stuttered the last couple of years, I bet Kenwright is gutted he didn't cash in when he had the chance.

The PL is full of wealthy owners who buy clubs for their own individual reasons. Some, to profit from. Like United, like Swansea will be now, like Villa. Others, to play. Like your oil sheikhs. Like Moshiri is.

Thanks for the advice on transfer budgets. I do pay attention to what players go where and for how much and I've concluded that £100m + any proceeds will be more than enough for us this season, but nonetheless, thanks.

Kenwright has definitely screwed us over multiple times. I don't slag you off for buying trophies, never once have I mentioned it. I quite like City as they remind me of Everton in a lot of aspects, but on more extreme ends of the spectrum. You've been both at the bottom (what is now League 1) and at the top. As have we, just not so far down. Football is about money and now Everton can compete and get back to where we've been so often throughout our existence.

take a look at the league table. You may well think that Everton are the better club, which I fully understand. But Southampton are unquestionably the better team. Not sure how you can argue otherwise, to be honest.

So are Leicester a better team than you lot? What about United? Chelsea? Arsenal? Does this also mean they're better than Real and Athletico Madrid because they only finished second and third in their leagues?

Absolute nonsense of the highest degree.

LMA seem to be remarkably quiet on this. If Southampton sacked him they'd be all over it, bemoaning how it's not fair on these poor managers and clubs should show a bit more loyalty. As soon as one of them jumps, not a word. Same with Chris Wilder at Northampton. Wins league 2 then leaves for league 1 Sheffield United. That's why they get no sympathy when they get sacked.

You've fallen into the same trap as most others when judging our owner. He isn't in it to play as you put it, but he's in it for long term investment and to use the club as a marketing tool for Abu Dhabi. That's why the main sponsor is Etihad. You and others may think it's just another way of putting money into the club to circumvent FFP, but Etihad are our sponsors to promote themselves and bring both the airline, the club and by association Abu Dhabi into the spotlight. Too many people look no further than the end of their nose. Our owner is planning for 20 or 30 years down the line.

Excellently put. Hopefully, for our visiting Mickey, their new owner will be in for the long term.

Going on current form, then yes. Both Leicester and Arsenal were better than us last season (repeat in case it doesn't register with you; LAST SEASON). In the same way that 10 teams were better than your mob last season. And if you want to talk "absolute nonsense", then try using league positions of teams from different countries as some sort of absurd yardstick to compare their strengths relative to one another.
