Kolarov take a bow.

In Ice hockey they produce a stat know as +/-. It shows the amount of points (asists or goals) a player has scored compared with the amoutn of goals conceded while the player is on the pitch. So a player with anything about +1 is condsidered to be having a good season.

Now with Kolorov he delivers some factastic balls into the box and is always a danger at free kicks. If i was defending against him id probably identify his lack of real pace and that his one trick is it lift his right leg in the air and do a running Cruyf turn inside with the left foot and probably close him down.

Unfortunatly for young Aleks he cant defend, this aspect of the game, the great art of football, is unfortunatly completly beyond him.

Exhibit A: Villa's 4th goal

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewDX48PbrrY&feature=player_detailpage#t=191s" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewDX48Pb ... age#t=191s</a>

watch how Aleks watches Nastasic close the ball down three times before gracefulyl allowing Agbonlahor to breeze past him almost untouched.

I make the +/- comparison because where Kolarov tends to score, it is usually balenced out with some horrific defending. Eg v UTD in FA Cup, scores one but is directly at fault for two. v Sunderland (3-3) scores one but is directly at fault for two. v Villa Scores one and is prety culprable for one.

He is being appreciated for his work rate and desire, basically his willingness to foul at any given opportunity.

I thought we went backwards when he came on, fair enough the system changed but being good at dead ball situations doesnt mean he is any good at anything else, and in my opinion he is a very average footballer.

kicking a ball from a dead ball situation makes you great at kicking a ball not and not a great footballer
Backwards when he came on? We had spent the previous 12 minutes passing it between the back 4 and passing it to their player to score.

We conceded shortly after he came on the pitch. In fact it was him and yaya claiming for a foul/handball that led the ball being played in the middle for Rodwell to provide a class assist.

Apart from the odd free-kick and I mean very occasionally and one decent corner in 20, Kolarov offers absolutely nothing to the team.

Stick him on the left wing, he does something now and again.

Chips in with a free-kick every 2 months, can't take corners.

I'd rather we sold him and got Baines from Everton.

I'd pay above £18 for him, he's class. Defending, attacking, pace, the lot.

Baines is a class above Kolarov in all area's.

As I said - his Happy Gilmore left foot is his saving grace. If he didn't slam home the occasional free kick he'd be feckin useless all ends up!

Doesn't have the pace to be a top left back, look at all the best left backs in the world, Clichy, Cole, Marcelo, Evra, Lahm, Alba. Can't believe we actually spent 18 million on him and whats worse Mancini will still rotate him with Clichy.

Are you fkn kidding me? Putting Clichy alongside Cole, Marcelo, Evra, Lahm, Alba?!?!
Dont you know anything about football? Did you ever watch or play football?

Clichy=Arbeloa, barely!

Clichy is light years better than Evra now, and I'd have him over Marcelo and Alba, too, as a better defender. Cole in particular and Lahm a class above.

my heart sinks every time he comes on

his best position is Left Back in the changing room
