you are wrong. any team that plays with 4 defenders, 4 midfielders and 2 forwards is playing the 4-4-2 .

the midfield does not have to be flat, it can be a diamond, a square etc.

Then how does a 4-1-2-1-2 formation exist? You know, 4 defenders, 4 midfielders, and 2 strikers? You're lack of football knowledge is, quite frankly, shocking.

so a 4-4-2 diamond does not exist ?

from wikipedia:

"4–4–2 diamond or 4–1–2–1–2[edit]
The 4–4–2 diamond (also described as 4–1–2–1–2) staggers the midfield. The width in the team has to come from the full-backs pushing forward. The defensive midfielder is sometimes used as a deep lying playmaker. Its most famous example was Carlo Ancelotti's Milan, which won the 2003 UEFA Champions League Final and made Milan runners-up in 2005. Milan was obliged to adopt this formation so as to field talented central midfielder Andrea Pirlo, in a period when the position of offensive midfielder was occupied by Rui Costa and later Kaká"

like i said, being ignorant is not so much a shame, so do not be ashamed, just be humble and keep learning.

the first 1 is pretty much the exact same thing, just restricting the ams to one side instead of giving them freedom like the formation it made to give

the second is actually more of a 4-3-3( 3 midfielders 2 wingers 1 striker) that's more like what barca play with iniesta in cam but cdms are cm instead

and the 3rd is a formation that would never be used unless cf changed to cam which would then make it like the 2nd but a man playing more inside

basically youre wrong, you know shit about football and your stupidity is actually embarrassing to our club which I personally hope you do not support as your football knowledge is disgraceful.

where the players start at the beginning of the game is not important. it is their roles, duties and what part of the pitch they cover, this determines the actual formation used.

please get an education before you tell other's they are wrong.

LiveraniTORINO - Juve and ultimatum on Kolarov. The Serbian side of the City and a left-handed pure, unlike Zuniga may only be used on the track left-handed. More than the Colombian can boast a good international experience gained especially with english club. In Manchester had wished to Roberto Mancini, who in 2010 the tearing sound of a million (19 to be exact) precisely to Marotta, although in recent times the cohabitation between the two had become less serene. Despite the landing of Mauricio pilgrims on the bench of the City ( "For me Alexandar Malinov Boulevard until and unassignable), Kolarov wants to try a new experience. To return to Italy and at the forefront of your thoughts and the Juventus would be the best train to find the series A. A Chatillon, during the withdrawal bianconero, the supporters have asked in a loud voice, the former Lazio before Andrea Lambs and then Joseph Marotta. "Give us Kolarov", the chorus of the eleven days in Val d'Aosta. The vertexes bianconeri are not gone beyond the smiles of circumstance

obviously its about there roles and 1 thing for sure is our players roles weren't the roles of a 4-4-2 formation.

bit rich for someone who believes every formation is either 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 to tell me to get an education, their sunday league tactics and top teams vary their formations to things like 4-2-3-1 as its good for passing. how many foreign teams in leagues like spain or Italy play 4-4-2? its a typical English formation and is completely shit, get into the 21st century the game has changed once foreign managers started taking over, and the reason that they have found it so easy to take over is that there are very few good English managers and far too many playing the traditional 4-4-2 which we in your very shallow mind we play. probably because there the only 3 numbers you work out adds to 10. learn about football then try tell me to get some education
