Kolo Shout Out

I don't think Kolo wants to leave , he likes it here ..... he's a more than useful squad player to have around.

Well done to kolo on a magnificent season when called on. I'm another who didn't think he had it in him.

Me neither. Fair play to him.He still has something of the keystone cops about him though, but I think that is more perception than reality. Maybe the club can look at a twelve month extension, especially if Lescott is out the door?

Shows you what a run of games can do

And also a bit of luck. Demba Ba beat him on his way to the penalty last week, and tonight he made a mistake that could have been crucial.

I'd like to think Mancini has seen enough in Kolo's recent performances to offer him a contract extension. I'm sure Kolo knows that Kompany will start when fit, but he also knows that he will get games during the course of the season so I think something will get worked out

Also shows you what a good manager can do. Remember that Clichy and Kolo were at Arsenal and their defensive play wasn't great. These two have improved under Mancini as has Richards.

City apparently do an awful lot of work on the positioning of defenders off the ball and it shows as City's defence is the best in the League. This is not just down to the players, but the manager. Do you agree DD?!! Be honest

He's been awesome recently. The way hes playing its almost as if he's taking 'diet pills'.

Too soon...

It'd be good if he stayed as a squad player but consider the strong possibility he just won't take halved wages (and the whole idea of players like him being allowed to go is to cut our bloated wage bill) when other clubs in England, Turkey, France, and the Middle East are interested in him and probably willing to give him big wages + a signing on fee. He's really having an Indian summer at City though, his best form right near the end of his 4 year stay.

I just hope in letting Kolo and Lescott go we don't lack experience in defence next season, because all of the touted replacements are young players like Mangala and Marquinhos. Kompany could be the daddy of a very young set of central defenders!

Yeah, keystone cops is the perfect comparison. But this season he keeps getting his man.i wouldn't extend him because for the clubs momentum I think another world class centre half signing would be the thing to do. But I don't write the cheques.

Done really well the last couple of games and so we've not really missed Vinnie, too much. His partnership with Nastasic is excellent. Although I think anyone in the world could play with that lad. I'd be more than happy if Kolo stayed tbh but if he does then Joleon definitely goes. Of the two I'm not sure which one I'd keep now... Last year it would've been an easy decision. Can't see them both going, or staying.

But the whole back four were superb. Again. Zaba and Clichy have been immense for a while now though... To think the arse think/thought Clichy can't defend??? No lads, it's your team that can't defend!

Of course the manager can take credit for individual player improvement. Obviously the flip side of that is he bears some responsibility for players who regress.

His performances of late have been excellent and incredibly important but I think we'd regret giving him an extension.

And which players have regressed under Mancini?

I thought Kolo was excellent against the Villa.

He hardly missed a tackle or a clearance and generally looked in control at all times.

Kolo always looks very good when the guy in front of him is excellent (as Garcia is and Viera was). It means he doesn't have to make too many step-forward-yes/no decisions that lets his overall game down.

I don't know if your joking but either way that comment was laughable

BTW on current form I'd offer him a two year contract. We need to spend heavily upfront and in midfield to really improve the side.

Rate him but cant see him staying he is on way to much money to be warming the bench, and probably wont want to take much of a paycut think we will have the same problem with lescott next year.

Garcia played well tonight. Just about our best midfielder. Of course you're probably obsessed with pace - which is not the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or even 4th required asset of a good DM.

I'm not obsessed with pace but Garcia isn't excellent and he isn't the reason Kolo looked very good. Garcia is good as is Kolo
