Apologies if already been covered, does it mean that Joleon is staying?

Kolo Toure has confirmed he will leave Manchester City at the end of the season, but he wants to stay in England.

The 32-year-old Ivory Coast international joined City from Arsenal in 2009 in a £16million deal.

He was a regular during the first couple of years during his stay at the Etihad, but he has since become more of a squad player under Roberto Mancini.

Now he has admitted that he is set to leave City as the club have made no contact over a new deal.

"I have been here for nearly four years, and two fantastic years when I have been playing a lot and I hear my songs with Yaya and I will miss those things, for me my family is here, my kids are at school and they like the area - but in two months nothing has come from the club and I am thinking about my future definitely," Toure told Sky Sports News.

Toure, who has been linked with moves to Italy and France, insists he wants to stay in England.

"My first choice is this country, as I like English football - that is why I began playing football," he said.

"After Ivory Coast I came here, I don't know any other culture and it is important for me to stay here, I have been here for ten-years."

Toure also congratulated Manchester United on winning a 20th league title. He says they deserved to win it and warns City they must start next season stronger.

"They have been more consistent, more concentrated and I think we lost a bit of motivation and determination and that cost us the title," he said.

"I think City need to start from the first game to the end of the season and try and be focused, like we were last season - every game, as the Premier League is so hard, you can beat Chelsea and then lose against Wigan and those games are key."

Toure along with Samir Nasri were at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon with an East Manchester primary school for the Learning Through Football scheme. The highlight of the scheme is to improve literacy and numeracy levels in Manchester and the UK.

I appreciate his work for City, best of luck in the future to him. Think it's been pretty clear that he's off for a while now though.

I think Joleon will probably stay another year regardless of this. Wonder if we'll bring in a young back up at CB or just promote someone from the youth i.e. Rekik. Not sure though, he's left footed and we might want cover on the right side?

I'll be sad to see him leave too , i like the guy , great attitude .

Still don't understand why we are letting him go. He's been content to act as a back up to the first choice centre backs and he hasn't let us down this season when called upon. In fact has played bloody well in several games. We should be offering a year or two and maybe suggesting a pay cut. Sounds like he'd have that if offered.

Yep, I don't understand it at all. At least offer him a deal with a pay cut to match his contribution. It will be typical of us to just let him go and have a lack of defensive options next year through injuries or a bad signing like Savic.

The last time I read anything from Kolo it was months ago and he was saying then he was unhappy about being just a back up and wanted 1st team football or this would be his last season at City. Hardly surprising they've not been beating his door down to offer him a new contract however if he was happy to play 2nd fiddle i.e. injury cover and League and FA Cup games I'd extend his current contract by a year no probs as he's never let us down and always gives 100%

To sum up, he's not heard about a new contract, from a club that doesn't normally discuss new contracts until the end of the season.

He might go, but we might offer him something in June, if he's looking for a new club I don't blame him, but maybe he should just be patient for now.

I don't think keeping him would be a bad idea, but he may want first team football, and he won't get a guarantee of it with us.
