Onouha looks excellent at RB and CB, BUT is he at the level of our undoubted strikers? Hughes doesnt have time - next season its make or break for him and he knows it......our owners [without saying in public] want top 4, and so do the players we have signed......

senderos is rubbish, he just doesnt have the concentration or positional sense to make up for his lack of pace. decent in the air, and strong, but rubbish. if arsenal can't make a premiership defender out of him, we won't.
and vinnie came here on the understanding he'd be playing DM. he said it was a positive for him, he enjoyed the role.

We have 2 decent right backs though ! Yes he can play in there but he can also play in the centre as unlike Richards he can head the ball and actually read the game and get himself in the right positions. Richards does not have the brain to play in the centre !
Kompany can cover in defence but it is not his natural position.
Basically its clear we were looking to sign up to 3 central defenders. To have a top 4 squad we need that sort of number in quality. We were never going to get Terry waste of 3 weeks but there are still quality options out there but they will cost. I have already said I am at the stage where I think £30 million cash for Lescott would be good business as hes 26 left footed english and averages 5 goals from defense a season.
We have forward that played regular last season that did not get that !
I would just like to add that Sendros is completely shit no chance we will sign him.

I would stop at £20m - £22.5m for Lescott.
I would say if we Signed Lescott and Toure, with Kompany and Onouha we have alot of Talent there for Top 4.

I'd stop at £10m for Lescott, he's a good player but £20m? No way. I know the money doesn't matter to us too much, but with £20m Everton could sign 3 players of Lescotts quality. If we're paying ridiculous prices for decent players, give the money to foreign teams please.

Kompany is an awesome CB, definitely his strongest position. I would like to see a Lescott-Kompany partnership developing.

Nope, I just know my football, have a good friend who's an Arsenal fan and he'd agree, go to Arsenal-Mania and you'll find the exact same opinion as me. My knowledge of European football is top class, but hey, just keep taking what you read in The Sun as Gospel won't you...

Kompnay played midfield for Hamburg and for us most of the time. I accept he will be used for cover in there though and do a decent job. Personally I think hes better than dejong in midfield though his passing seems better and hes a much bigger stronger player , better suited to the prem. Anyway hes out injured for a couple of months at least so we wont have him available for a while.
I think Kompany and Nedum are awesome backup in there we still need to sign 2 player of the highest quality in there though.

Lescott is left footed though mate so gives cover for left back. I believe Hangeland is the best all round CB out of the 3 and Lescott the best as an attacking threat in the air. Lescott and Hangeland would be the best bet but I wouldn't complain at Toure.

Shouldn't we focus on playing Zab and Kompany as midfielders and competition for De Jong and Barry? I feel so, they are at level we need to have for our squad defensive midfielders. With Lescott, Toure and Bruno Alves, I feel we are at a level in the heart of the defense where we ought to be.

Shouldn't we focus on playing Zab and Kompany as midfielders and competition for De Jong and Barry? I feel so, they are at level we need to have for our squad defensive midfielders. With Lescott, Toure and Bruno Alves, I feel we are at a level in the heart of the defense where we ought to be.
