Kompany injured again...

Personally feel Vinny has been rushed back and too much game time too soon

He said as much in his programme notes

We have become over reliant on him and others (Aguero, Silva) because of poor transfers or poor scouting network and this needs addressing in the summer

Aye. Pretty much how I see it. TBH mate, it's the same with a lot of the 11/12 legends who are still at the club. How many can you say hand on heart will still be City players going into the start of Pep's 2nd season at City?

Me and our kid said the same last night.... Pep has a major rebuilding job on his hands, however, he's also capable of reigniting a few within the melting pot.... At a guess, with all other variables, maybe 8/9 of this current squad live to fight another day. One thing is for sure, the spine as we know it, is brown bread.... It's ridiculous that we may have to overhaul at least 7/8 new faces into the team, I'm just hoping the Pep aura elevates 3/4 of the mainstays for one more year...

I think a conscious decision was made to leave certain players in place on the basis that to replace them and entice the players you want you'll need a manager with Pep's draw. I also think that they did the most they could last summer in getting Raheem and KDB. Four or five more from that basket this summer and we'll be rocking and rolling. As you say though, that 'spine' from 2011/12 is finished. Wish them well and hopefully send a lot of them to China so we can even make money on them!

People saying he should change his game are probably right in the sense that he'd add a year or two to his career, but it would be at the cost of his game and manhood. The man is a warrior, put a physical challenge in front of him and ask him to walk away? You might as well ask him to cut his own balls off.

It's the reason he has so many injuries now, every challenge is an all or nothing. Has been all his career

At least one of those players said "build it, and we will come" (:

Good post mate, let the man keep hold of his dignity!!!

Stones is not a top drawer centre back yet. He has potential.

I see it now like sterling. City pay £50m, he has a few dodgy games and the fans turn on him. Happens time and again on here.

Some have turned on vinny who through no fault of his own is finding his body is prone to an injury.

Yaya is another. A legend but according to most is a lazy money grabber.

City fans, best in the world my arse

This club has to get into the habit of buying potential and nurturing it-Pep is the man to do it, Stones could be our CB for the next ten years-either that or get some "ready made " defender in from abroad and still spend £30m. Who will spend four years here then rinse and repeat.

It would be better for us if he spent the summer having whatever treatment to try & fix this ongoing calf problem but of course he will want to captain his country. So unless he gets injured prior to that & can't go, there is a decent chance he will be i jured when he comes back & Pep will be starting without him.

That could mean one foot out the door at first team level.

If he doesn't make the euros though, someone somewhere might be able to fix him during the summer. More chance of Harold Shipman curing him than our lot though I fear.
