Kompany injured again...

On Radio 5 they were saying it was Vinnie's 16th such injury whilst at City and both Townsend and Miss Dalglish (especially) were making out that it was all City's fault. Ally McCoist was inputting a little sense into the debate and Townsend had back down. I found this record of Vinnie's injuries which shows the BBC were talking bollocks about the number of injuries at City but also shows various leg injuries to groin hamstring and calf in just over 3 years.

That misses his injury against Juventus in September that began our downward spiral

Fourteen times with the same injury since signing for us in 2008 is a story in itself. What makes it worse is that a team's defence is where unity in thought should be the same from week to week whereas the midfield and the forwards can be juggled about in accordance with individual game tactical requirements. So where does his leave Vinny? Perhaps the defence will have to be rebuilt without him but that does not mean he should be discarded. As we recall, when he was signed he was used often in a defensive midfield role and I think he could be used to great effect in this role as (1) he's better than anyone else on the books, and (2) if he breaks down again, he has competition and his absence could be catered for anyway just by a change in tactical strategy.

So it does! You can't believe anything off the internet!

But it does show a variety of injuries but the calf is the persistent one this season. If it is the same tear parting they should look at an operation to repair it rather than all this faffing around.

But the Euros loom and he is national captain......

With all due respect to Vincent, he needs to sit down and really assess his options. He could well be looking at the Euros this summer, or saving and recuperating his career.

He is an intelligent player and I'm sure he will be thinking that way but the problem may be that the snake Wilmot will once again talk him into putting his country before his club. Belgium have never had a better chance of achieving success in the Euro's and emotions may make VK, as his Country's captain, turn out when really he shouldn't do so. If he does this and he breaks down again then he's no use to anyone.

If he said he would put City first he would be an even bigger hero to Blues but if I was was in the same position it would be a very difficult choice and my loyalty to City goes back a bit longer.

I don't know how long the operation takes but can it be much longer than the six weeks we keep seeing? My own recent dealings with the surgeons didn't seem to take so long to repair with dissolvable stitches patching me up with vinegar and brown paper.

Ally McCoist seemed to be well balanced from the bit I heard on the way home from the game , makes a change to hear somebody offering a non sensationalist view

He should be ruthless with the fitness team.

Muscle injuries can largely be prevented. One or two muscle injuries here and then is understandable but many in our team have had them which means the fitness team, whoever they are, need looking at.
Well have a look at Peps injury record at Bayern. Not any better than ours (if at all).

Yes I thought he was fair and balanced which is all we want. As for Townsend, he seemed to be no better informed about football than a woman who only got the job through her dad's name.

Let's face it, the fella's a bit of a sick note. God only knows how many games we'll get out of him now. One thing that some players have done is give up international football, but he's Captain for probably the team his country has ever had - I wouldn't give that up either.
