Kompany red card and appeal SUCCESSFUL

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

Definitely worth an appeal as cannot be classed as frivolous so unlikely to get extra game ban.

yes it was harsh but during part of the tackle he clearly has both feet off the ground, so i doubt it will be overturned.

a yellow for me though

But both feet are not lunging... why a yellow.?.

Vinny's gone for the ball and the photo showed trhe arse player falling, having gone over on his ankle , before any contact is made..

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

No point in appealing, we will lose. It was a good tackle but the fa will agree with the ref. Move on mighty blues

Just like nzonzi last week looked bad from one angle but from another it was never a red. Can see every club shutting up shop if its not rescinded. Football will be over.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

problem will be the independent appeal panel of Gill (Chair) , Macari and Crerand

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

To me it was a great challenge and he won the ball fair and square.. however i'm not sure it will get over turned as i'm sure the FA would like to get one over on us

i think both feet off the ground will be enough for the FA to uphold is all i meant

Appeal!

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

For me, not a red card, but I have been given the luxury of countless replays. There is one replay that showed it from the refs angle, and it did look like a 2 footed challenge, but everyone else that saw the 4 or 5 other replays knows that it wasn't. Yes, two feet left the ground, but only one of them went for the ball, the other was trailing underneath him. Appeal, see what happens. If we win, justice is done, if we lose, move on and concentrate on the next game.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

When do we find out the result of the appeal?

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

Hanen and Schmikes in agreement on MOTD2. Never a red card.

Joke of a decision and football is fooked if the FA don't reverse the decision.

Quite right too.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

As an aside, I've said a few times that I think Mike Dean is the best ref in the league and today's mistake doesn't change that for me, from his angle the challenge looked a lot worse than it was, although I obviously hope he reviews it and comes to his senses.

Just had a look at a rags forum and they universally hate him, that should tell you all you need to know. He is the best because he doesn't pander to dickheads like them and calls it as he sees it.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

Good ref. One bad decision today though.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

Ref was under a lot of pressure today after the Arsenal sending off but for me great tackle not even a card if anything Kompany was fouled, well worth the appeal no way it could be considered frivolous.

I agree. (I still think he looks like Jasper Carrot!)

Mancini said he'll appeal it, what are the odds of it being overturned?

About 50/50 for me.

Hopefully common sense on behalf of City will prevail, the next three fixtures are winnable quite easily without him, no need to twist imo. What we don't want is a four match ban, there's footage that shows Mike Dean say "two footed" when both feet leave the ground you lose control and are reckless. Take it on the chin Vinny and get that calf injury right.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

As the panel is not always the same three people, it's a lottery. But they allowed Delap's appeal for the tackle at 0.50 of this, so if that wasn't a frivolous appeal, Vinny's surely shouldn't be... (unless the FA is corrupt of course)...
