People don't really think that "tackle", last night, was worthy of a red card, do they?

A definite foul and a definite yellow card. I wouldn't say it was worth a red, though.
Seen them given, look where it connects on the ankle of the standing leg. A definite leg breakers. Definite excessive force. Definite intention to hurt.

I guess we'll have to disagree. Definitely a foul, and definitely intended to bring him down in order to stop the potential of a counter attack. I just don't believe it was a leg-breaker as it was only his trailing leg that floored him. Had he hit him with his leading, right leg, I'd have more inclined to believe a straight red to be worthy.

I think this is more a case of it being "Scholes", than anything else and I do agree that this tiresome "typical Scholesy tackle" line that keeps getting trotted out, is just bollocks.
Have another look mate. It's his leading leg that takes the ankle, not trailing.

-- Thu Jan 17, 2013 10:59 am --

Ah just read you can't see the gif mate.

Think you may change your mind on seeing it later.

Guess wh0's speaking about other team's players again.. vile ****

Sir Alex Ferguson today warned the Football Association that they have ‘opened the door’ for clubs to inundate them with red card appeals.

Ferguson said: ‘I don’t want to say too much as I’ll be accused of bias. But the door (for appeals) is open now, of course. That’s their (the FA’s) problem.'

You'd guess it's first successful red card appeal hearing him or reading Daily Fail.

Knowing that horrible fuckers mindset he'l feel as though he's owed one now. And next time there's an incident involving one of his players he'l be brininging vinnys overturn up and he'l be expecting the same decision

I love this video. I like how it starts with the foul on Zab in the FA Cup semi final. Ahh, such happy memories. Wasn't that a great day, r.sole? Was that the best live game you've ever seen?

a week late, nowhere near the ball, no intention of playing the ball, over aggressive and dangerous. The lad was lucky to not pick up a bad injury. All in front of the ref. Red all day for me.

Tbh, I'm only going off seeing it live, yesterday, and that was my first impression.

I wouldn't be too impressed if I saw one of my Oldham players being sent off for it, put it that way, despite it not being the best tackle in the world.

If there's GIF's in this thread, our work system doesn't allow me to see them on here, so I might change my view if I see it again tonight.

Scholes is very good at making his fouls look innocent or simply mis-timed. He is in control and doesn't really fly in with his teeth bared. He goes in sharp and fast whilst looking the other way or holding his hands up.
