Ironic that we got his 3 game ban rescinded then he has only played one more game.

Was thinking that myself.

Third calf injury this season. Not good at all - in fact, he's starting to look injury prone. Still we have Garcia, Nastastic & Lescott to fill in.
And Kolo and Micah when fit.No problems!

I agree that the front men have been poor but vinny is at the heart of the best defence in England, fuck me I bet every team in the premiership would have him.

Any team in the world. He's the best in the world for me. I wouldn't swap him for any center back right now.

Back for Chelsea then?

Suarez could have a field day if he's up for it. Southampton and Leeds aren't a huge worry (touch wood).

We have had a load of injuries, African Cup absentees, and players missing for other reasons this season. It has got to the stage where I dread opening the paper or switching on SSN in case I see "City injury blow" or some such.
A twisted Red fanatic told me last summer that they would have walked the league without their many injuries, esp. Vidic. I think that applies to us now. I hope I see him this summer.

That great uncertainty called luck because there is no other better term we as humans have come up with to describe the uncertainty of football on any given day I said at the start of the season , injuries , suspensions and when the injuries occur and to whom and for how long will be the difference between us and Manure this season.

Nothing to date has altered my thoughts on that , despite losing Vidic and Rooney for reasonable amounts of time we have had the worse run so far vis a vis Manure at critical times and for particular games.

It does indicate that we are better placed than they are when you consider their reliance on RVP to get the point scoring goals and the fact that so far Yaya , Kompany, Aguerro , Dzeko and Silva would all probably agree that because of a whole range of factors many of them genuine and or mitigating they have not had the season they would have hoped for.

If you look at the bigger picture we don't have a lot to moan about as much as we would like to it seems.

I don't think luck has much to do with the injury problems this season. Ever since we got rid of Dr Batty,we've struggled with injuries. I hope we didn't get rid because of a clash of personalities. I've met him a few times & he does come across as a larger than life character & very much his own man,it makes me wonder if that became a problem for some.

I wasn't attempting to draw a direct connection to that thing all managers , pundits , stakeholders , supporters alike coin luck and injuries.

Often managers say we have had bad luck or a bad run of injuries etc.

Clearly some players and some under certain conditions and the way they play are more suspect to injuries ala Richards , Kompany etc.

I do agree that our number of soft tissue injuries has been far worse this season than last season though and the club needs to get a hold of why they occur and how to better manage them.

Ironically the Essendon football club in the AFL paid a kings ransom last season to get the bloke who is regarded as the number conditioning person and "expert" on both soft and impact injuries and their soft tissue injuries went through the roof (LOL).

If you have a good succession plan in operation and a well run club no one person should be missed or be indespensible once they leave should it be well known in advance or all of sudden.

Personality clashes happen all the time and at all levels of the club.

A well run club minimises them and weeds out those who do not have the best interests of the club at heart be it player , admin , management quickly and without much fanfare from the press.

big loss, but lescott has been fantastic this season and nasty is growing as a player every game.

both are slow though so maybe have milner keep an eye on suarez
